Advanced Heart Failure Cardiologist with Carilion Clinic Roanoke, VA

Carilion Clinic is searching for an additional Advanced Heart Failure Cardiologist to support the continued growth and expansion of Heart Failure services provided at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital (CRMH), our 703 bed Level 1 Trauma/Academic/Tertiary Care Center serving nearly one million in southwestern Virginia. Responsibilities include providing advanced heart failure services in the inpatient and outpatient settings to include the management of patients with temporary and durable mechanical circulatory support devices.   As a member of the Heart Failure Team, the physician will contribute to the ongoing development of the Heart Failure Program with a focus on improving access and expanding services for this complex patient population.   Formal and bedside teaching of Cardiology Fellows, Internal Medicine Residents and other learners, as well as participation in Research is a core part of our Academic Mission.  Qualifications include Board Certification in Cardiology and Board Certification or Board Eligibility in Advanced Heart Failure and Cardiac Transplantation.    Carilion Clinic’s Cardiovascular Institute will expand significantly this summer with the opening of the new Crystal Spring Tower in July 2025.  The new tower will be the home for the Cardiovascular Institute and the expanded Emergency Department. The new signature building will add over 500,000 square feet to the hospital and will include the following: · 3 Cardiovascular operating rooms ·         2 Endovascular operating rooms ·         2 General Vascular operating rooms ·         6 Cardiac Catheterization labs ·         3 Electrophysiology labs ·         76 Intensive Care and Progressive Care inpatient rooms ·         46 Pre-and Post-care rooms ·         5 Trauma bays (including 1 dedicated peds bay – the only in the region) · 95 Dedicated ED beds ·         40-bed ED observation unit   The Heart Failure Clinic will relocate to the Crystal Spring Tower and will include additional exam rooms and an outpatient infusion suite.  The space also includes physician and APP offices in addition to a conference room for the Heart Failure team.   Carilion Clinic, a community-based, integrated health system is an organization where innovation happens, collaboration is expected, and ideas are valued.
