Ref #: C-LPN-9070253 Location: Albuquerque, NM | Type: Contract (Non-Travel) | Start: ASAP | Duration: 13 weeks Schedule: Wed–Fri, 06:00 AM–06:30 PM | Rate: Local $1,012/36 hrs Overview: Seeking a licensed practical nurse for a 13-week contract in Albuquerque. The LPN will provide direct patient care within a collaborative healthcare team, following established protocols and maintaining accurate documentation. Required: Active LPN license for the state of New Mexico Current BLS certification Key responsibilities: Deliver direct nursing care under RN/physician guidance, including medication administration, wound care, and vital sign monitoring Conduct patient assessments (physical exam, history, medication reconciliation) and contribute to individualized care plans Administer and monitor medications and treatments, including IV therapy and catheter care, ensuring correct dosing and line function Perform wound management: evaluate, cleanse, dress, and monitor for infection or complications Obtain and document vital signs and other clinical observations; maintain precise, timely patient records Collect specimens (blood, urine, sputum) for lab testing as needed Provide patient and family education on diagnoses, medications, self-care, and preventive health measures Support patient comfort and safety (positioning, mobility assistance, pain management) Respond to emergencies and provide basic life support per protocol Adhere to infection control standards and safe medication/supply handling and disposal Advocate for patient needs and coordinate care with RNs, physicians, therapists, and support staff May supervise CNAs or unlicensed assistive personnel when applicable Participate in ongoing professional development and perform other duties as assigned by management This role requires strong clinical skills, attention to detail, and effective teamwork to ensure high-quality patient care.
