Ref #: C-LPN-9074142 Location: Las Cruces, NM | Type: Contract (Non-Travel) | Start: ASAP | Duration: 9 weeks | Schedule: 06:00 AM–06:30 PM | Rate: Local: $1,051/36-hours Requirements: Active Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) state license BLS certification Overview: Provide direct patient care under RN or physician supervision in a fast-paced clinical setting. Deliver safe, evidence-based nursing interventions, document accurately, and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to support positive patient outcomes. Key responsibilities: Perform head-to-toe assessments, obtain medical histories, and contribute to individualized care plans. Administer medications and treatments according to orders and facility protocols; monitor for effects and document appropriately. Provide wound care, dressings, and monitor for signs of infection or complications. Monitor and record vital signs and changes in patient condition; maintain thorough, timely documentation. Start, monitor, and manage IVs and IV medications when authorized; care for urinary catheters and monitor for complications. Collect specimens (blood, urine, sputum) for lab testing and ensure proper handling. Assist with patient mobility, positioning, comfort measures, and basic pain management. Educate patients and families on conditions, medications, and self-care to promote recovery and prevention. Respond to emergencies following facility protocols and provide basic life support as needed. Follow strict infection control practices, safe medication handling, and proper disposal of medical waste. Advocate for patient rights and coordinate with RNs, physicians, therapists, CNAs, and support staff to ensure cohesive care. Supervise CNAs or unlicensed assistive personnel when assigned. Maintain professional development by staying current with nursing best practices and facility policies. Perform other duties as assigned by management.
