Duties
Assists the Facility Manager in the overall operation of a fitness facility. Circulates among patrons to assure service is satisfactory: provides information and general instruction on the use of equipment, facilities, and machinery.
Assists in setting up for instructors, contractors, events, athletic activities, and related functions. Performs facility cleanliness and/or monitors contracts.
Assists with publicity of programs and events and assists with the delivery and placement of posters, flyers and other promotional material.
Issues/receives equipment to authorized users. Monitors fitness equipment condition; tracks maintenance and repair or replacement as appropriate. Cleans and performs minor maintenance on facility equipment.

Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
A one-year probationary period may be required.
Must possess the following within 6 months of employment: MWR Orientation Course, Customer Service.
Must obtain and maintain a valid USAREUR Driver's license.
Must be able to work evenings, weekends, holidays (U.S. and German) and MWR Special Events.

Possesses related work experience that includes the demonstrated ability to perform the duties of a Recreation Aid, such as: provides information and general instruction on the use of equipment, facilities, and machinery; assisting in setting up for events; etc.

Area of Consideration
The Area of Consideration for this vacancy announcement is the local commuting area of Kaiserslautern. The local commuting area defined as within 100 km (60 miles) of Kaiserslautern, Germany. (Military Spouse Preference (SEP), Involuntarily Separated Military Preference (ISMP) and Family Member Preference eligible candidates are included in the area of consideration.)

Allowances and Differentials
This job is part of a pay-banded system. Sunday premium pay for regularly scheduled employees and night differential pay may be authorized by the Garrison Commander.
Foreign overseas allowances, cost of living (COLA), incentives and differentials will not be paid.
