Accessibility Training Consultant

Overview
At Level Access, the Accessibility Training Consultant is a key role in shaping customer perception about the significance of digital accessibility. You will be responsible for enhancing the competencies of our clients by preparing, delivering and evaluating training courses and programs in a way that is both interesting and useful to our clients. As a member of the Customer Education team, you will be responsible for training our customers on both our software products and industry best practices including but not limited to Accessibility Awareness and Assistive Technologies, Development, Design, and Testing. Furthermore, the Accessibility Training Consultant is proficient in leading training on Accessibility Policy and Regulations.
An Accessibility Training Consultant is never complacent with their expertise and must demonstrate continued skills growth. The trainers in the Customer Education team are at the head of the class and leaders in their proficiency.
Responsibilities
- Delivering instructional content to customers through channels such as documentation, live streams, video courses, and live instructor led facilitation
- Ability to translate technical language into language suitable for the targeted audience
- Communicate and collaborate with internal project team to ensure successful learning outcomes
- Assess training needs and certification requirements
- Create instructor materials (course outlines, training aids, etc.)
- Design and support development of engaging instructor-led and eLearning materials
- Assist in development and maintenance of training database and associated systems
- Test client’s systems against specific manual and assistive technology tools and consult with customers on the proper methods for implementing digital accessibility in systems
- Execute job requirements while insisting on the highest standards and measure impact of the learning experience
- Engage with the internal and external community to stay current on industry trends, and maintain a live training roadmap to address those trends
- Partner with Sales and Customer Success leadership to assist in training presentations to prospective and existing customers and translate to Statements of Work.
Qualifications
- Applied knowledge of digital accessibility, Section 508, WCAG, and JAWS/NVDA
- Experience in front-end development, including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
- 3+ years' experience in instructional design, writing and/or conducting in-person and virtual training
- Exceptional, engaging, and dynamic communicator, with a talent for teaching others
- Strong writing skills, with an understanding of how tone impacts learning
- Ability to travel to deliver courses
