Account Manager
Job Description
Responsibilities
- Consult, develop, implement, and manage travel programs for Global and National clients
- Create, implement, and review strategic travel management plans and track key metrics
- Through collaboration, operate as the point of contact for clients in the development and implementation of their travel management programs
- Lead negotiations with air, car, and hotel suppliers for contracts
- Determine data management needs
- Provide diagnostic assessment of travel policies and procedures, identify strengths and weaknesses in key areas and recommend change
- Ensure clients remain profitable by managing renewal processes and fee negotiations.
- Participate in RFP or B&F presentations
- Develop and implement travel training programs for travelers and travel arrangers
- Ensure travel policies are updated to align with travel industry trends and organizational needs
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure client requests and processes are efficient and effective
- Monitor and report on traveler safety and security issues related to risk mitigation and contingency planning
- Attend industry events to develop strong industry knowledge and business relationships
- Identify business opportunities within the corporate travel arena and other Christopherson Business Travel companies
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in account management, specifically in the travel industry
- Self-motivated with a desire and ability to positively influence others
- Working knowledge and understanding of industry procedures and practices
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast paced, ever-changing environment
- Reporting and analytical capabilities; dashboards and analytic tools
- Ability to negotiate to achieve maximum savings
- Compose documents such as letters, proposals, and RFP's
- Project coordination and management experience
- Online booking tool knowledge
- Corporate communications
- Customer service
- Expense management knowledge
- Forward thinking and open mindedness
- Ability to collaborate effectively
- Proficiency in Microsoft products, specifically Power Point and Excel
- Excellent presentation abilities
