With millions of happy users and a growing product line, you'll be responsible for introducing these to a portfolio of schools and Multi-Academy Trusts and to a range of our key channel partners to meet or exceed the annual sales target.  

This is a remote position, with travel required across the United Kingdom including visiting our office in Essex. This post is open to residents of the United Kingdom only. 

ABOUT THE ROLE: The following are the essential functions of this position. The list is not exhaustive and may be supplemented as necessary.  

  • Vigorously seek out new opportunities to introduce our products to new customers, as well as manage the experience for existing clients. 
  • Develop close business relationships with channel partners, existing clients and wider educational technology contacts to monitor market conditions and to ensure on-going account servicing in a manner that maximises customer satisfaction. 
  • Exhibit excellent communication skills, maintaining timely and effective contact with both internal and external stakeholders. 
  • Assess the organisational, educational and technical needs of prospective and existing clients to identify how Lightspeed’s products can solve their needs, asking astute questions and listening to understand, anticipate and exceed their expectations. 
  • Work alongside Sales Engineers and channel partners to create and deliver business proposals to prospective and existing clients. 
  • Communicate the value and features of Lightspeed’s products by delivering confident and coherent demonstrations to potential customers. 
  • Work within the wider Lightspeed team, acting as a liaison between customers and technical staff. 
  • Support sales and marketing activities by attending trade shows, conferences and other sales and marketing events.  
  • Maximise the use of internal systems such as Salesforce and Outreach to enhance and exceed our customer’s expectations, documenting all daily activity. 
  • Schedule and complete weekly activities which include prospecting by email and telephone and scheduling both video conferencing and face-to-face meetings.  
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.  

ABOUT YOU - KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:  

  • Passion for education, the use of digital technology within schools and for safeguarding the use of digital platforms.  
  • University degree preferred or equivalent experience  
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)  
  • 2+ years of enterprise technology sales or business development experience with a proven record of success (preferably K-12/education sales experience)  
  • Technically minded, with an ability to explain technology in simplistic terms. 
  • Proficient in using Salesforce.com or equivalent CRM software 
  • MUST be a self-starter, be able to manage your own time, and work in a highly collaborative environment in an independent manor.  
  • Strong communication, analytic, and listening skills. 
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with both internal and external stakeholders at all levels.  
  • Ability to clearly document and record information.  
  • Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills.  
  • Ability to give presentations to small and large audiences.  
  • Ability to effectively operate with high-energy and flexibility in a fast-paced, constantly evolving team environment. 
  • Extensive airline and overnight travel required during some periods.  
  • Valid driver’s license and good driving record required.
