Accountant

Job Description
Applied Systems, Inc., a worldwide leader in insurance technology, is currently searching for an Accountant to become an essential member of our accounting team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background utilizing and applying both advanced accounting principles and Excel functions, you will be responsible for recording financial transactions in accordance with GAAP to properly reflect our current financial position.
What You'll Do

• Daily Cash Management involving multiple currencies, bank accounts, & subsidiaries.
• Monthly Bank Reconciliations for various accounts.
• Perform financial analyses involving balance sheet reconciliations and general ledger maintenance for multiple subsidiaries.
• Make recommendations regarding the adequacy of various accruals, policies, and procedures.
• Assist with periodic audits of all corporate financial records.
• Assist with other accounting-based tasks; including but not limited to, intercompany transactions, recognizing unearned revenue, posting month-end journal entries, and making bank deposits.
• Participate and/or assist in special projects as needed.

What You'll Need to Succeed
We're looking for someone who:

• Can work remotely or from an Applied Systems office.

Your experience should include some or all of the following:

• 3-5 years of practical accounting experience.
• Advanced knowledge of MS Excel and other Microsoft Products
• Working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and established accounting practices.
• Knowledge of automated accounting and computer systems.
• Flexibility and enthusiasm for learning new technologies, skills, tools, and ideas.
• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting.
