Job Description

Role Summary

CrowdStreet's Accountant, Corporate Reporting & Operations is responsible for financial reporting and accounting operations, including preparation of accurate and timely financial reports, the maintenance of a financial system of records, development of internal controls, documentation of processes, supporting audits, and managing finance operations, among other assigned tasks. This role reports directly to the Financial Controller and will provide opportunities to work across multiple finance disciplines.

The Success You'll Build:
  • Develop and review accounting policies and procedures that ensure financial statements are in compliance with GAAP accounting principles and assist with the preparation of financial reports for management, the board and investors
  • Coordinate the preparation of annual financial statements, regulatory filings and audits
  • Lead specific finance activities such as the monthly close, expense reporting, commissions, equity administration, cash management and account reconciliations
  • Continue to develop and improve upon internal controls and procedures, including development of formal internal procedure manuals
  • Provide systems support for the general ledger, expense and stock based compensation systems
  • Provide support for strategic, financial, and operational goals such as new product offerings
  • Help set up systems, processes and controls to support the growth of the business and efficiently scale the infrastructure and operations.   
  • Collaborate with teams across the company to support operations and identify, design and implement cross-functional process improvements
The Experiences That Will Help You Succeed:
  • Progressive accounting management experience, including experience at a major public accounting firm or early stage company
  • Experience working in a fast-paced organization and ability to continuously improve operations while supporting day-to-day operations
  • Industry experience in fund management and/or commercial real estate (preferred, but not required)
  • Experience with SEC reporting and SOX compliance (preferred, but not required)

The Competencies You'll Need:

  • Strong understanding of GAAP and technical accounting, including financial transactions, net interest, revenue recognition and internally developed software
  • Financial reporting and operations or similar roles
