Accounting Manager

We are looking for an Accounting Manager to lead our small but mighty accounting team. Reporting directly to our Controller, this position will handle a wide spectrum of general accounting and leadership responsibilities within our Finance team. The ideal candidate thrives in a setting that requires a balance of moving swiftly while not missing a beat when it comes to details, accuracy and organization. 

• Own month-end close, preparing journal entries, B/S and P&L account reconciliations, and variance analysis for all general ledger accounts
• Ensure compliance with internal control policies in a SOX environment
• Manage/Lead internal audits conducted by UPS, providing necessary support
• Payroll processing
• Obtain supplementary information for preparing financial statements
• Identify procedural gaps to develop efficiency and effectiveness within the team 
• Drive process improvements to streamline operations, improving quality and efficiency of close process and internal controls
• Lead, mentor and oversee the day-to-day activities of the accounting team members 

• 3-5 years of previous accounting experience 
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting 
• 1-2 years of experience supervising direct reports 
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license or CPA track, preferred 
• Experience with Quickbooks and Oracle
• Strong working knowledge of GAAP
• Strong technical experience to support with all accounting and reporting activities
• High attention to detail and staying on top of deadlines is a must
