An opportunity is available to join DAS42 as an Accounting Manager, to assist with preparing, maintaining, and analyzing financial records. The Accounting Manager will support the business by providing strategic direction and execution of financial operations. This person will be a key member of our operations team.
What You’ll Do- Maintain accounting policies and procedures, ensuring they are current, relevant, and compliant
- Conduct strategic financial forecasting and budgeting
- Lead efficient month end closing activities, providing accurate data to the business and BODÂ
- Provide financial analysis and modeling
- Support accounts payable, ensure payments are made according to terms and cash flow needs
- Oversee and facilitate Expense Reimbursements usingExpensify, ensure timely and accurate and coding to the General Ledger, ensuring expenses adhere to company policy and accurate coding to the General Ledger
- Prepare and record journal entries, assist with general ledger reconciliations in FinancialForce
- Respond to customer, vendor and employee inquiries as needed
- Administer semi-monthly payroll, using Rippling, under the supervision of the COO
- Execute accurate monthly invoicing and post cash receipts
- Manage data audits and reporting to ensure accuracy and compliance with all applicable legal requirements
- Prepare supporting schedules and complete other duties as assigned
- Support and prepare audit requests and meetings in addition to tax preparation requests and meetings with outside accounting firms.
- Manage a junior accounting resource and/or third party contractors or vendors as needed.
- Deep Knowledge of accounting and financial principles and practices
- Knowledge of local, state, and federal laws and regulations regarding accounting, finances, and taxation
- Prior experience using accounting software as well as experience using timekeeping and expense management software. FinancialForce, Expensify, Bill.com, and Quickbooks experience is a plus
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy and strong organizational skills
- Understanding of and ability to adhere to accounting principles and practices (e.g., GAAP, IFRS)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
- Demonstrated capabilities in making solid business decisions, problem-solving, and multi-tasking in a highly dynamic and fast paced business environment
- Proven ability to exercise a high degree of confidentiality and objectivity
- Must be resourceful, demonstrated sense of curiosity, and able to perform at a high level in environments with ambiguity and complexity
- Ability and desire to work collaboratively within the operations team and with other teams in the organizationÂ
- 1-3 years of experience managing employees and/or third party contractors or vendors
- 7+ years of experience and a BA/BS degree in Accounting or related field
- Location Options: DAS42 is a collaborative hybrid environment. The ideal candidate lives commutable to a DAS42 office in Denver, CO or New York City, NY for periodic in-person work and events. Qualified US-based remote applicants will be considered.
