Job Description
The team's charter is to partner with a broad group of stakeholders to build out the end-to end Microsoft Cloud Infrastructure, while optimizing investments and enabling accounting solutions that are scalable and mitigate risk. As a key member of the team you'll be responsible for designing and executing the accounting system and process solutions for new initiatives focused on the next generation of Microsoft's Cloud infrastructure. The role will be involved with a multi-billion dollar asset portfolio influencing the design of systems & processes, providing key insight to business partners, and executing monthly financial close processes.
The Accounting Manager role will collaborate with Microsoft partners globally, including Finance, Tax, Treasury, Trade, Sourcing and Business Operations to optimize systems, processes and accounting for Cloud Infrastructure .
Qualifications:
Required/Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 2+ years post-graduate financial analysis, accounting, controllership, or finance work experience
o OR equivalent experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Association of Certified Chartered Accountant (ACCA) or equivalent certification.
- Previous accounting experience in Cloud, supply chain, fixed assets and/or multi-national companies preferred
- Demonstrated analytical, collaboration, and time management skills
- Ability to communicate effectively (written and verbal) with all levels of management
- Demontrated understanding of GAAP, Internal Controls, and SOX
- Demonstrated systems and process improvement experience
- Must be extremely collaborative and comfortable dealing with ambiguity, influencing across multiple complex organizations, creating effective internal business partnerships
- Ability to effectively manage multiple projects, have excellent attention to detail, and work effectively under deadlines

Responsibilities:
- Execute asset management accounting including recognition of acquisitions, depreciation, retirements, and transfers for worldwide datacenter hardware.
- Work independently and in partnerships for cost accounting, asset management, reporting, process enablement, and fiscal close cycles.
- Provide partners with timely and accurate financial reporting using a variety of database programs.
- Manage detail-oriented programs to recognize all capitalizable hardware costs through a combination of automated, manual, and vendor-run processes.
- Participate with a high performing team to add to thought leadership for Business Enablement.
- Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)/International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) and MS Policy; enable controls to safeguard assets and accurate financial reporting.
- Collaborate with global stakeholders to meet regulatory, statutory, audit and compliance requirements.
- Build and manage close partnerships with teams across Engineering, Operations, Finance, and Business.
