ACCOUNTING MANAGER

Support our Nordic global organization with general ledger accounting, review, and analysis in the preparation of GAAP financial statements. Assist and support the accounting team with month-end close and year-end audit

Key Responsibilities

The Accounting Manager will have the following key responsibilities which include, but are not limited to:

  • Month End Close
    • Contribute in monthly financial close, with a strong focus on intercompany, estimated accruals, allocations, consolidating/eliminating entries and assist with team oversight.
    • Perform monthly reconciliation and review of requested balance sheet accounts.

  • Intercompany Accounting
    • Create intercompany invoicing monthly and record received intercompany invoices.
    • Reconcile intercompany accounts monthly.
    • Maintain foreign exchange rates within the accounting system utilizing a third-party source.

  • Audit
    • Assist in preparation for annual financial statement audit and periodic bank audits; ensure appropriate support for all financial information reflected in general ledger.

  • Other
    • Recommend, design, and assist with implementing any department controls.
    • Occasional preparation of technical accounting memorandums.
    • Review and analyze balance sheet and income statement accounts, with special emphasis on month-to-month trends.
    • Contribute to the preparation of GAAP financial statements through reconciliation, validation, and data analysis.

Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting from accredited college or university preferred and 5-7 years of accounting work experience. Bachelor's degree in Finance will be considered with requisite accounting work experience.
  • CPA certification required.
  • Experience in public accounting is a plus.
  • Sound knowledge of accounting principles and finance concepts.
  • Strong computer skills and proficiency with accounting software and MS Excel and Word.
  • Strong intuitive and analytic/problem-solving skills

  • Travel up to 15% of the time
  • Position located in the Greater Madison, WI area or open to remote
