Accounts Payable Specialist

The Role

Accounting Support: Checks and verifies cost accounting, and account payable records, prepares invoices and vouchers, general journal entries as needed, and balances accounts payable records. Uses office automated systems to input data, generate reports, conduct specialized research projects, and respond to inquiries. Ability to reconcile difficult accounts and follow up for information independently. Strong attention to detail when coding departments, projects, and other identifiers for the transaction.  Ability to work in a high paced environment and prioritize tasks as requested.

What You’ll Do

• Processes payments for goods and services purchased by the organization 
• Audits invoices 
• Secures proper approvals before issuing payments 
• Provide guidance on policies, procedures, and accounts payable systems issues 
• Sets up new vendors in the payment system 
• Manage and reconcile vendor accounts
• Month-end reconciliation and adjusting JEs
• 1099 filing
• Weekly Payment runs

What You’ll Bring

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 3-4 years’ previous AP experience
• 10-key skills, working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
• Understanding of basic principles of finance, accounting, and bookkeeping
• Attention to detail

Nice To Have

• Associate degree in Accounting, experience working in NetSuite and Coupa
