Summary:

The Agile Business Analyst partners with stakeholders from all business units and related third parties to define and document business processes and software and system requirements for organizations initiatives. The Business Analyst evaluates and validates new and existing functions, identifies and analyzes end user issues, and provides support through standardized processes, tools, workflow analysis and testing, to ensure end-user-requirements are fulfilled. The Business Analyst works within both Agile and non-agile processes.

Essential Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

Level I:
• Leverages the Organization's requirements process to elicit, analyze, specify, and validate the business' requirements.
• Leverages the Organization's requirements methodology, Agile and non-agile to store, trace, and baseline these requirements.
• Works with the development team(s) to elaborate requirements including high level user flow diagrams and test specifications using Gherkin format.
• Serves as an effective partner to the business ensuring requirements meet the objectives of business sponsor(s).
• Maintains applicable documents and tracking systems updated with relevant information related to the project requirements, updates, and delivery status.
• Builds, develops, and grows business relationships vital to the success of the project.
• Interfaces with other Business Analysts as well as Team Product Owners (TPOs) to manage dependencies with integrated products.
• Assists with the reconciliation of differing perspectives from stakeholders throughout the business, minimizing impacts to technical solutions.
• Develops and analyzes functional and non-functional requirements for technology solutions for stakeholders according to the Enterprise Software Development Lifecycle (eSDLC).
• Creates and maintains artifacts related to use cases, functionality issues, and data dictionaries.
• Proactively manages changes in scope, identifies potential risks, and works with management and development team(s) to create recovery plans.
• Maintains understanding of latest trends related to business analysis.
• Facilitates the clarification and interpretation of business objectives and system scope as they flow from business stakeholders to development teams.
• Participates in a "community of practice" to drive consistency and excellence.

Level II: (In addition to Level I essential responsibilities/accountabilities):
• Contributes to management of product vision, roadmap, and releases in collaboration with TPOs.
• May act as a TPO on small or medium project(s).
• Partners with Business Leads and /or Product Families to translate need and problem solving into a detailed requirements document.
• Supports strategies and features for large scale projects, including migrations, integrations with other systems, and automations.
• Mentors and partners with Level I Business Analysts in the Agile practice and Product Family knowledge.
• Stays informed of latest trends related to Information Technology and Business Analysis.

Level III: (In addition to Level II essential responsibilities/accountabilities):
• Compiles metrics and reports on progress to project team(s).
• May act as a TPO on Large project(s).
• Works collaboratively across the Organization to identify potential areas for process or implementation improvements, addressing any impediments to the product or project.
• Collaborates and partners with the Customer Experience teams in solving pain points for our users across all platforms.
• Act as a subject matter expert for the products supported, mentors and train other Business Analysts in various practices and other products.

Minimum Qualifications:

NOTE: We include multiple levels of classification differentiated by demonstrated knowledge, skills, and the ability to manage increasingly independent and/or complex assignments, broader responsibility, additional decision making, and in some cases, becoming a resource to others. In addition to using this differentiated approach to place new hires, it also provides guideposts for employee development and promotional opportunities.

Level I:
• Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or related field, with two (2) years' experience as a Business Analyst. In lieu of degree eight (8) cumulative years of experience required.
• Experience with Agile and Scrum preferred.
• Experience in the Health Plan or healthcare industry especially as it relates to overall health insurance value chain and processes preferred.
• Experience writing requirements or user stories that are clear, concise, and well organized.
• Experience with structured analysis as well as design and data gathering techniques preferred.
• Excellent analytical aptitude required.
• Demonstrated organizational skills and ability to work with the vast array of information.
• Ability to work efficiently and creatively with limited supervision.
• Excellent communication skills: oral presentations, writing, negotiation, active listening, influence positive team dynamics.
• Advanced MS Office knowledge (MS PowerPoint, MS Excel, MS Visio, MS Word).
• Ability to prioritize work components and define objectives.
• Critical thinking and analytical approach to providing solutions.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Attention to detail, diligence, and dedication.

Level II: All qualifications of Level I, as well as the following:
• Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or related field, with 4 years' experience as a Business Analyst. In lieu of degree ten (10) cumulative years of experience required.
• Experience writing requirements in the Gherkin method preferred.
• Experience within an Agile environment. Experience with Scrum preferred.
• Demonstrated modeling skills, including the ability to represent requirements information in graphical forms, including using modeling languages already established in the development organization.

Level III: All qualifications of Level II, as well as the following:
• Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or related field, with eight (8) years' experience as a Business Analyst. In lieu of degree fourteen (14) cumulative years of experience required.
• Five (5) years of experience with an Agile environment. Experience with Scrum preferred.
• Minimum four (4) years' experience writing requirements in the Gherkin method required.
• Certified Business Analyst Professional (CBAP) preferred.

Physical Requirements:
• Ability to complete work in a traditional office environment under fluorescent lighting.
• Ability to orally communicate.
• Must be able to function while sitting at a desk viewing a computer and using a keyboard and mouse for 3 or more hours at a time.
• Must be able to travel across the enterprise.
• Ability to work in a home office for continuous periods of time for business continuity.
