Job Description

Role Summary/Key Objectives:

In this role, you serve as the internal voice of the customer. You will own all aspects of your technical products, leading business value creation and managing overall product health within the domain. You will apply specialized product knowledge and expertise to understand business and technology objectives, communicate the product vision and roadmap, prioritize, and translate needs into requirements to ensure that expected outcomes are achieved.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

• Own and manage team-level intake process for inbound product/service requests
• Partner with engineering leads and delivery managers to perform backlog grooming, decomposition, prioritization, and sequencing of work based on value & strategic alignment
• Drive PI planning and continuous planning throughout each PI in partnership with key stakeholders
• Identify, escalate, and mitigate cross-functional interdependencies between teams - reprioritize work based on scope/schedule changes accordingly
• Establish capacity management approach and manage team capacity, escalating risks/issues around resource availability as needed
• Regularly review Agile metrics to develop insights and recommend actions that drive operational efficiency for engineering teams
• Contribute to road-mapping sessions and encourage long term planning (3mo. - 3yr.)
• Facilitate team-level retrospectives to identify continuous improvement opportunities
• Continuously develop functional-level product/service knowledge and understand product/service business value

Specific areas of responsibility are:

  • Work Initiation -
    • Collaborates with business and technology product owners/stakeholders to initiate new initiatives, supports the development of program specifications including the value statement, provides technology financial requirements/estimates, aligns with APMs on the product/service to understand capacity and WIP to sequence initiatives appropriately
  • Change Agent -
    • Partners with Agile Coaches to identify opportunities for improvement and optimize team performance using a metrics-based approach, ensures consistency with enterprise data standards (JIRA/Rally/etc)
  • Collaboration/Impediments -
    • Builds trusted relationships with business and technology partners, collaborates across functional, operational, and technology groups to ensure the appropriate engagement, assists with key stakeholder negotiations, serves as the main point of contact to resolve escalations, remove impediments, and tackle conflicts
  • Product Knowledge -
    • Leverages product/service knowledge to identify impacts and guide decisions/sequencing based on that knowledge, understands dependencies outside of their product/service to align on expectations
  • Solution -
    • Broad knowledge of infrastructure services offerings & products within Global Infrastructure & Operations organization.
  • Qualifications:
  • Passionate advocate, with the ability to identify, champion customer needs, and improve with Agile principles in mind
  • Ability to work cross functionally with Business Stakeholders, Software Engineering, CIP, Infrastructure, etc.
  • Experience in Agile tools (JIRA), collaboration tools (Confluence, SharePoint, HipChat, etc), Visio, reporting tools (Tableau), ticketing systems (ServiceNow, iService, etc) and Identity Governance Platforms (Savyint) preferred.
  • Proven skill at balancing infrastructure technical knowledge with business acumen
  • High degree of comfort in a fast-paced / ambiguous environment
  • Strong understanding of Service Design, experience with matrixed working relationships, and best practices of Agile methodologies like Scrum, Kanban, XP, etc
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, organizational and analytical skills
  • Understand and carry out written and oral instructions
  • Ability to work in a team with minimal supervision while under pressure and conducting several tasks at one time
  • Ability to plan, direct, coordinate work activities of others
  • Ability to use sound judgement
  • Experience working within a global, matrixed management organization
  • Healthcare, life sciences experience preferred but not required
  • Self-motivated, adaptable, able to prioritize and motivate others
  • This role is WAH/Flex which allows most work to be performed at home. Employees must be fully vaccinated if they choose to come onsite


If you will be working at home occasionally or permanently, the internet connection must be obtained through a cable broadband or fiber optic internet service provider with speeds of at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload.

For this position, we anticipate offering an annual salary of 85,400 - 142,400 USD / yearly, depending on relevant factors, including experience and geographic location.

This role is also anticipated to be eligible to participate in an annual bonus plan.
