RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS

The role is part of the Client Solutions & Capital Markets management team. The team works closely with senior management and is responsible for supporting Goldman Sachs Asset Management Divisional Management, the Client Solutions & Capital Markets Business, managing projects, strategic initiatives, business reporting, regulatory initiatives and governance that spans the global business.

YOUR IMPACT

We are seeking a highly-motivated, detail-oriented associate to join our global management team. In this role, you will partner with various groups both within and adjacent to the Global Client Solutions & Capital Markets Business to provide analytical and strategic support for our sales and distribution efforts with key client firms, platforms and registered investment advisors.

HOW YOU WILL FULFILL YOUR POTENTIAL

• Work closely with senior management to assess the state, and develop the narrative, of the business and provide analytical support for strategic initiatives
• Coordinate across regions on global initiatives related to business strategy, client engagement, technology and reporting
• Take project management lead while partnering with cross-functional stakeholders to identify and execute on opportunities to drive efficiency and scale
• Manage key financial processes across the global business (e.g., annual sales budgeting process, P&L management, headcount and expense budgeting, etc.)
• Develop and maintain business / market analytics and sales metrics for divisional and business managers with a clear focus on accuracy and consistency of data
• Produce weekly business summaries, KPI progress updates and complete ad-hoc requests from senior management, etc.
• Manage client coverage and conflict requests and liaise with Executive Office on cross-divisional requests

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE WE ARE LOOKING FOR

• 3-5 years of relevant experience in a Finance, Accounting or Data Analytics role
• Self-motivated and driven, someone looking for a steep growth curve
• Team player with strong interpersonal skills: ability to build the trust and confidence of colleagues, strengthen relationships through ongoing dialogue and interactions, and collaborate well with others internally
• Project management skills; highly organized; attention to detail and excellent follow-through; able to define, structure and prioritize work, but with the flexibility to change priorities when circumstances dictate
• Fast learner and effective communicator of new / complex information
• Strong problem solving skills and abilities, able to craft unique solutions with limited guidance; proactive in assessing dynamic situations
• Ability to work at varying speeds and under timeframe pressure, while maintaining extremely high standards
• Confidence to challenge and be innovative; focus on identifying areas of improving efficiency through automation and scalability
• Strong skills in Excel (vlookups, pivot tables, simple macros, etc.), PowerPoint (graphs/charts)
• Working knowledge of analytics applications (i.e. Alteryx, Tableau, Qlik) and database tools (e.g. Elastic, MS SQL Server, Legend) a plus
