Analyst, Associate Data (Drilling)
Job Description
The Associate Drilling Data Analyst is primarily responsible for executing routine data management tasks required to run the drilling operations business. This position maintains the data integrity of drilling operations across multiple systems and databases. This role will also have the opportunity to learn and develop data and analytics skills to contribute on more advanced projects.
Performs a range of straightforward assignments. Contributes to tasks or projects within a team, function, or work group. Practical working knowledge of a technical or specialty area. Exercises independent judgment in accordance with policies, procedures, techniques, relying on limited experience to plan and accomplish work. Works under a moderate level of supervision.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Process and develop general reports of for departments to help understand key business metrics.
- Involved in requirement discussions to establish reporting and analytics for business units around processes to provide clarity and insight.
- Assist with the design, building, and deployment of dashboards and reports.
- Participate in project brainstorming sessions.
- Assist with the development of processes, projects, and reports for continuous improvement.
- Work and communicate timely with internal customers to assist, problem solve, and complete projects.
- Research issues to find resolutions essential to completing tasks.
- Maintain a continuous integration development workflow. Coordinate implementation & deployments to testing and production environments.

Skills and Competencies
- Ability to manage and analyze time series data.
- Experience with visualization tools, preferably Tibco Spotfire.
- Good analytical skills with ability to excavate data.
- Interface with Enterprise Data Warehouse staff and other IT resources to leverage digital data across systems, dashboards and KPIs.
- Conduct drilling research and competitor studies to compile summary of observation and findings.
- Able to work in a fast paced, time and data sensitive environment.
- Able to multi-task and manage changing priorities.
- Strong attention to detail in preparation of schedules and reports.
- Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate across departments and at all levels.
- Self-starter, highly organized, and able to produce high quality work under pressure.
- Self-motivated with a proactive approach to problem solving and utilizing limited resources to maximum capacity.

Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- 2 years serving as a Data Analyst
- An acceptable pre-employment background and drug test
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business or Engineering from an accredited institution.
- 2 years experience within the Oil and Gas industry working as Engineering Tech, Engineering Specialist, Business Analyst, Systems Analyst, Data Analyst, IT Analyst or related role
- 2+ years working with Spotfire, Tableau or PowerBI
- Basic knowledge of WellView data structure, and strong knowledge of WellView preferred.
- Basic knowledge of Alteryx
- Experience in Exploration & Drilling or related industry experience.
Physical Requirements
- Requires prolonged sitting, some bending and stooping.
- Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds.
- Manual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer keyboard and calculator.
