We are looking for an Analytics Engineer to join the Candid Data & Analytics team to own and enhance a modern data infrastructure that will enable increased trust in our data assets, increase agility of the data team, enable self-service across the business and ultimately improve overall decision quality for the company.
In this role, you will own the transformation data model strategy and roadmap, create highly optimized models and semantic layers for broad consumption and fully manage all data pipelines in and out of our cloud data warehouse. You will influence the data tech stack guided by your experience as well as the ability to objectively evaluate 3rd party capabilities. You’ll work directly with stakeholders to understand their needs, plan and execute changes to our data models, and evangelize the effective use of that data.
You will report directly to our VP of Data & Analytics and partner with stakeholders from Product, Marketing, Go-to-Market and Engineering teams among others. This role can be 100% remote within the United States.
- Build upon, optimize and maintain the dbt transformation layer to provide a consistent set of data elements and metrics that are ‘primed’ for reporting and analysis
- Own Candid’s centralized cloud data warehouse and implement/leverage key functionalities to drive maximum value from it
- Create Analytics requirement documents that identifies data capture needs in the Product development lifecycle by working closely with stakeholders from relevant functions
- Own all data services that connect various systems and applications, both 1st party and 3rd party, to ensure seamless flow of data in an accurate and efficient manner
- Stay up to date with the latest technologies and trends in data engineering and analytics to continuously enhance our existing technology stack
- 2+ years experience as an analytics engineer/data engineer/data analyst
- Highly skilled in writing complex SQL scripts. Python skills preferred but not required
- Experience with templating languages (such as Jinja) and manipulating multiple data formats (such as JSON)
- Experience with ELT processes with a focus on data transformation (dbt)
- Experience with the modern data stack in general and cloud data warehouses (Snowflake, GCP, Redshift etc.) in particular
- Experienced in deploying code in Github using CI/CD pipeline
- Strong interpersonal and communication (written and verbal) skills
- High level of precision and attention to detail; inquisitive by nature
- Proactive and self-motivated; collaborator who can also work independently
