Android Software Developer

STR is seeking an Android developer to join our tight-knit, growing Autonomy team, focused on mission support needs from the warfighter and national security community. We design, implement, and demonstrate software for autonomous system control. As part of the Autonomy team, you will contribute to software that ranges from early prototypes to fielded systems and will revolutionize the way that humans interact with unmanned robotic systems across a wide range of use cases and domains. You will be able to see how your software enables new robotics applications in simulation, live demonstration, and field tests.

This hybrid position is based at STR’s 3500 sq.ft., state-of-the-art Autonomy lab, which is located steps from STR’s Woburn, MA corporate headquarters.

We are seeking candidates at all levels – from established technical leads with proven experience to talented recent graduates seeking impactful research and development opportunities. This is a full-time role for an individual and not a corporation-to-corporation contracting arrangement.

Qualifications:

• BS in Computer Science or related technical field
• Demonstrated expertise with Android software design and development
• U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain a Security Clearance
• Ability and willingness to travel up to 20% time

Even Better:

• Experience implementing complex Android applications in a team setting
• Experience leveraging open-source libraries from within Android applications
• Familiarity with Geospatial Information System (GIS) concepts or the Android Team Awareness Kit (ATAK)
• Experience controlling robotic systems including small Unmanned Aerial Systems (sUAS) and Unmanned Ground Vehicles (UGV)
• Active Security Clearance
