Application Engineering Manager

The Role
The Fusion Product Engineering team is responsible for building the Fusion Framework System™ on the Salesforce Lightning Platform as a Service (PaaS). Fusion is building a rich ecosystem of Managed Packages that utilize all portions of the Salesforce Lightning Platform stack, including, but not limited to: Lightning Components; Visualforce; Apex; JavaScript; ReactJS; REST API's; HTTP Callouts to 3rd Party Services; Platform Cache; the Streaming API, and more. The Application Engineering Manager defines and upholds processes and standards to deliver enterprise-grade software for our clients. This role ensures that our development efforts are aligned with our technical architecture, quality assurance, and product efforts. This role requires an expert level of discipline in Software Architecture, Agile Software Development Methodologies, Organizational Change Management, and Team Leadership. This role reports directly to the Senior Director of Product Engineering.

• Recruit, retain, grow, and mentor a high-performing application/software engineering team
• Drive a strong team culture by promoting collaboration, accountability, and continuous learning
• Accountable for operational excellence for the application engineering team focused on quality, security, performance, efficiency, scalability, and predictability
• Collaborate with leadership on the product roadmap, ensuring product management objectives are achieved through application engineering effortAccountable for strategic technical decisions regarding The Fusion Framework and its ecosystem of products.
• Develop, relentlessly prioritize, and manage the application engineering initiatives aligned to organizational strategy
• Makes decisions on escalated technical risk and escalates to company leadership as needed

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• B.S. Degree in any of the following areas: Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Management, Mathematics, or a related STEM degree
• 5+ years of experience translating User Stories into secure, scalable, and high-quality code as a software engineer / developer experience leading and mentoring engineers
• Knowledge of application security best practices including OWASP vulnerabilities and the corresponding ways to protect against them
• Experiencing driving operational excellence and improving upon the software development lifecycle in an Agile environment while meeting enterprise-grade commitments is a plus
• Proficiency in managing high-performance teams as an ISV within an enterprise SaaS ecosystem is a plus
• Strong written communication and collaboration skills are a must
• SCRUM Certification is a plus
