As our Associate Director, Content Marketing, you will...
Be Accountable and ResponsibleÂ
- Driving content strategy, managing a team of content creators and a designer, and contributing as a content creator yourself.Â
- Working with stakeholders to develop content pillars and an editorial calendar that you and your team adheres to.Â
- Using a reporting mentality to delve deep into MERGE’s practice areas through interviews with subject matter experts (internal and external).Â
- Incorporating MERGE’s brand and sub-brands into every piece of content we create.Â
- Creating a “newsroom” culture that fuels regular and consistent production of high value content; finding opportunities for great content wherever you look.Â
- Producing content that will both attract our ideal customer profile(s) and improve our organic search rankings for a target group of keywords.Â
- Thinking multi-format and multi-channel to develop content for our website and blog, including thought leadership, case studies, webinars, ebooks, infographics, press releases, and more.Â
- Supporting demand generation campaigns with full-funnel content development; meeting the customer with the right content at the appropriate stage of their buyer’s journey. This regularly includes production of a lead magnet.Â
- Working with subject matter experts, talking with customers, and being resourceful to ensure the content aligns with customers, community, and MERGE’s point of view.
These are the qualifications we’re looking for:
- 5+ years of previous professional experience in a B2B copywriting and/or content development role; reporter and/or newsroom or media/journal/agency/industry publication experience is a plus.Â
- A reporter mindset - the right candidate will proactively seek out information while building their own subject matter expertise.Â
- Demonstrated ability to produce high-performing content on a regular, consistent basis.
- Ability to write clearly, simply, and conversationally to engage, entertain or educate - both technical and creative writing experience preferred.
- Understanding of SEO basics and a desire to learn more related to content development (technical SEO experience not required).
- Ability to ask the right questions and drive discussion during the discovery phase of content development (ex. working with a customer to develop a case study)
- Experience managing a team of high-performing content creators.
- Deadline driven; sense of urgency and the ability to overcome obstacles; always having a Plan B.
- 1+ years of experience working with a CMS (content management system such as Wordpress or Sitecore).
Compensation: $80,000 - $120,000
Salary differential is based on seniority, merit, education, training and experience. MERGE’s career ladders reflect department growth from Associate through Partner levels, with details of roles and responsibilities associated with each level. New hires are assigned a job level within a particular position based on these criteria and salary is set within the job level based on these criteria. Growth from one level to the next occurs when employees master their role, and are promoted into the next level, generally during salary review cycles which are posted in the employee handbook.
