Associate Director of Content Marketing
SUMMARY:
The Associate Director of Content Marketing supports the AllCampus content team, providing guidance to writers, editors, and content specialists to foster their creativity, align creative ideas with marketing strategy, and leverage data and modern practices to create accurate, compelling and effective copy at scale. This role collaborates closely with the EVP of Marketing to ensure the successful execution of content initiatives and achieve AllCampus' and our university partners' goals. The associate director is also responsible for appropriately assigning projects to writers and editors, as well as freelancers, to ensure the timely production of necessary content.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Support and develop the content team members, offering mentorship and guidance to enhance their writing, editing, research, communication, and business skills.
- Collaborate with marketing strategists to review the work of writers and editors, ensuring adherence to AllCampus quality standards and identifying opportunities for growth tailored to individual team members.
- Foster a supportive team environment that promotes learning, encourages versatility in writing, and empowers writers to succeed in creating content for AllCampus partners and various topics, including the AllCampus Corporate brand.
- Work with content specialists to provide insights and recommendations to help AllCampus and its partners engage their audiences effectively, shaping factors such as tone, style, and content utilization across marketing channels.
- Educate internal and external stakeholders on providing clear feedback and maximizing the value of the content team's contributions.
- Evaluate and optimize the content team's structure and processes, including the development of internal content resources, streamlining editorial workflows, implementing content QA processes, and fostering a balance between generalist and specialist knowledge.
- Collaborate with cross-functional departments to identify new content and optimization opportunities, while ensuring clear expectations regarding timelines, deliverables, and strategy for each content project.
- Assist in creating and reporting key metrics for content operations that align with larger marketing and business objectives.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor's or master's degree in marketing, communications, journalism, or a related field.
- Additional certifications or specialized training in content marketing, digital marketing, or related areas would be a plus.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in content marketing, preferably in the education services industry or a related field.
- Demonstrated success in developing and executing content marketing strategies that drive brand awareness, lead generation, and customer engagement.
- Sound understanding of the education services landscape, including the needs and challenges of educational institutions, students, and stakeholders.
- Experience in creating and managing content across various platforms, such as websites, blogs, social media, email marketing, and video platforms.
- Proficiency in utilizing content management systems (CMS), project management software, marketing automation tools and analytics platforms to produce, measure and optimize content performance.
- Knowledge of SEO best practices and the ability to optimize content for search engines.
- Excellent writing and editing skills, with the demonstrated success creating compelling and engaging content tailored to different audiences and formats.
- Experience in managing a team of content creators, including writers and freelancers.
- Strong analytical and data-driven mindset, with the ability to analyze content performance metrics and make recommendations.
- Familiarity with emerging technologies in content marketing, such as interactive content, personalization and AI-generated content.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, sales and partnership services to align content marketing efforts with overall business goals.
