This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for an Associate Medical Director, Med-Psych in United States.

This role offers the opportunity to lead and shape integrated medical and behavioral health care for patients with complex needs. You will supervise and mentor multidisciplinary clinical teams, including Med-Psych and Psych APCs, while delivering direct and consultative care across standard and high-risk behavioral health programs. The position emphasizes patient-centered, evidence-based care, combining virtual and collaborative workflows to improve health outcomes and reduce avoidable utilization. You will influence clinical strategy, support program design, and implement innovative solutions that enhance quality, efficiency, and patient experience. Accountabilities:

  • Provide clinical supervision and oversight for Med-Psych APCs and behavioral health clinicians in both Standard and High-Risk Behavioral Health models
  • Serve as psychiatric consultant, offering diagnostic evaluations, medication management, and treatment-to-target guidance
  • Collaborate with APC Managers, BH Managers, and external providers to ensure coordinated, patient-centered care plans
  • Conduct chart reviews, analyze clinical data, and optimize care plans to reduce avoidable IP/ED utilization and improve patient outcomes
  • Mentor and coach clinical staff on care delivery, panel management, and process improvement initiatives
  • Participate in clinical case conferences, on-call rotations, and urgent behavioral health triage as needed
  • Contribute to program development, pilots, and technology/tool design to enhance integrated care delivery
  • Requirements:

    • MD or DO in Psychiatry with dual Board Certification in Psychiatry and Internal Medicine or Family Medicine
    • Fellowship or training in consult-liaison psychiatry; additional training in addiction medicine is a plus
    • Active medical license in the state of employment and willingness to obtain additional licensure if needed
    • Experience supervising multidisciplinary clinical teams and holding leadership roles in clinical organizations
    • Proven ability to manage complex medical and psychiatric patient needs with a metrics-driven, outcomes-focused approach
    • Comfort with electronic medical records, telehealth platforms, and evidence-based care models
    • Valid driver’s license and access to an insured vehicle for required travel
    • Preferred: 3+ years outpatient mental health or primary care experience, familiarity with Collaborative Care models, and value-based care experience including STARS/HEDIS metrics
