Associate Product Manager, Global Upstream Marketing

Abbott CRM has an opportunity for an Associate Product Manager, Global Upstream Marketing in Sylmar, CA.

The Associate Product Manager in Global Upstream Marketing will be a key contributor in supporting product development and portfolio management for the High Voltage devices in our Cardiac Rhythm Management (CRM) Division. This global role will be responsible for product life-cycle management across geographies, product development, key business need identification, and execution on targeted initiatives and plans. The Associate Product Manager will support market research activities, represent voice-of-customer in product and portfolio development, facilitate project advancement through Abbott's ACE stage-gate process, and support global product launches to achieve business objectives - specifically the attainment of revenue and market share targets.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
  • Supports:
    • messaging / positioning / branding of products during upstream activities
    • creation of product concepts/claims and inputs into product concept definition
    • launch of tier 1-3 product introductions in global markets
    • presentation of business, product and situational information to global leadership
    • market research activities to drive business platform/portfolio decisions
    • upstream marketing efforts through cross-functional influence and leadership
    • financial analysis and modeling to provide key business insights
    • overall segment business planning to guide investment and activities
    • the budgetary process and priorities of the segment and business unit
  • Manages customer visits and interactions
  • Supports plan achievement by the commercial organization
  • Complies with global regulatory and legal requirements, in addition to Abbott company policies, operating procedures, processes and task assignments
  • Performs other related duties and responsibilities as assigned
  • May travel up to 15% of the time, including internationally


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE YOU'LL BRING

Required
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required
  • 1-2 years of marketing experience working in the medical device, life science research, pharmaceutical or diagnostics industry (or possess a Master's degree or MBA)
  • Demonstrated ability to apply analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to leverage/engage/influence others to accomplish goals and projects
  • Strong communication skills - written, verbal and presentation
  • Prioritizes, multitasks, and meets deadlines in timely manner
  • Strong organizational and follow-up skills, as well as attention to detail
  • Ability to work as an individual contributor and as a teammate in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

Preferred
  • Advanced Degree (such as a Master's degree or MBA) is preferred
