Associate Quality Engineer

The Web & Digital Strategy team is looking for a Quality Engineer who has a passion for delivering great Digital Experiences that are performant and bug free. Working closely with our team of engineers you will be responsible for helping establish testing best practices, testing new features and functionality and making sure that releases and deployments are happening on a consistent basis.  The Web & Digital Strategy team is responsible for Acquia.com and various other web properties, so quality and performance are of high importance.  

We are looking for someone that has had exposure to Drupal Development teams and understands the basics of Drupal, has tested Drupal sites before and has established testing frameworks before.  A basic understanding of HTML/CSS/JS is preferred as you could be expected to help debug and provide detailed testing results to developers.  Acquia.com is a shining example for Drupal and Acquia DXP, so you will have a great opportunity to learn from some of the best Drupal developers and help establish a solid testing foundation and workflows.

Requirements:

• Provide quality engineering support for a team of Drupal developers and designers and content marketers to help deliver new features and functionality.
• Participate in technical discussions for products and test infrastructure
• Promote quality assurance programs, policies, processes and procedures to ensure that performance and quality of products conform to established standards
• Promote and execute Quality best practices, tools, and methodologies
• Participate in planning/design phases of testing projects and recommend improvements
• Identify areas for improved testing efficiencies, test automation and implementation of automated test solutions
• Participate in team strategy and roadmap definition to expand test coverage by building appropriate tools, utilities, and automation that assist in functional testing
• Constantly evaluate the test automation strategy and approach to identify areas of improvement (i.e. test automation frameworks, coding standards, etc.)
• Understanding of front-end performance as it relates to key performance scores found in Google Lighthouse
• Working knowledge of a wide range of Drupal modules, understanding of Drupal and development/testing best practices.

What you’ll need to be successful:

1+ year experience in quality engineering including functional, system, integration and regression testing.

• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills in a modern web stack
• Excellent project management skills
• Hands-on experience in automation testing.
• Experience with continuous integration and build tools, such as Auto DevOps
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
