Position Title: Marketing Specialist III
External Description:
As an Athlete Marketing Manager at EA SPORTS, you will be an important member of our marketing team, responsible for building relationships with high-profile athletes in the world of American Football, as featured in our video game franchises, such as Madden NFL and EA SPORTS College Football. Your primary focus will be on creating marketing campaigns and on-site activations that use these Athlete partnerships to promote our games, engage our player community, and improve brand awareness. This is a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of sports, gaming, and marketing in a dynamic industry. You will report to the Athlete Marketing Lead.
Responsibilities:
Athlete Relationship Management:
- Establish relationships with both professional and emerging American Football Athletes who can become ambassadors for EA SPORTS American Football games.
- Foster connections with Athletes, their agents, and representation to build future campaigns and onsite activations.
- Collaborate with Legal and Business Development teams to ensure all negotiations and agreements align with company policies, College NIL guidelines, and protect the interests of EA SPORTS.
Marketing Campaign Development:
- Collaborate on creative and data-driven marketing campaigns including Athlete ambassadors to enhance brand visibility and engage target audiences.
- Work with teams, including brand, creative, social media, and Communications, to implement integrated marketing initiatives featuring Athletes.
- Manage Athlete planning calendars, rights, and remaining inventory on contractual services.
Content Creation and Social Media:
- Collaborate with the social media and Production teams to plan and implement Athlete-related content and activations on multiple social platforms, in connection with the Brand campaign plan.
Activation Coordination:
- Coordinate content creation efforts, including photoshoots, interviews, and behind-the-scenes footage, with the Athletes for use across EA SPORTS marketing channels.
- Manage communications and all logistic planning related to Athlete engagements, including booking travel, being an on-site liaison, and ensuring full compliance of the agreement.
- Help deliver successful events involving Athlete talent, in collaboration with the Events team, to enhance player engagement.
Performance Tracking and Reporting:
- Measure the impact of Athlete-led marketing campaigns, social media performance, and provide regular reports to evaluate the effectiveness of initiatives.
- Analyze data to identify areas for improvement and enhance future athlete marketing strategies.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Sports Management, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience with athlete marketing or sports brand marketing and on-site activations, with a focus on NIL and American Football.
- Knowledge and passion for American Football, College NIL, and EA SPORTS video game franchises.
- Communicate with high-profile athletes.
- Data-driven with the ability to use metrics to inform decision-making.
- Project management skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, including activation and logistics planning.
- Experience in event coordination and social media marketing.
- Familiarity with gaming and the gaming community is desirable.
