Ideal Candidate 

You are a talented attorney who is not only well-versed in the law but also passionate about using your legal expertise to achieve business goals. You will use your world-class customer service and negotiation skills, combined with your legal expertise, to collaborate across the organization to service our internal and external stakeholders. You will guide our strategy and processes with your knowledge of applicable and emerging laws, and seek opportunities to further develop your expertise across a broad range of practice areas.  

Performance Objectives

• Within 30 days, you will learn OpenSesame’s business, products, and corporate structure.  You will be proficient in using and adopting our vendor tools (SalesForce, Slack, Lexion CLM, Visual Compliance, G-Suite). You will develop a deep understanding of OpenSesame’s legal playbook, contract templates, and processes and begin to recommend improvements. You will have built strong relationships with stakeholders across the organization.
• Within 60 days, you will use your understanding of OpenSesame’s products and processes to effectively resolve a variety of legal requests from internal stakeholders at all levels of the company within the Legal Team’s SLA. You will manage OpenSesame’s obligations related to export compliance.  
• Within 90-120 days, you will independently negotiate agreements with external parties, both domestic and international,  including customer, publisher, partner, vendor, non-disclosure, and data processing agreements, within the parameters of OpenSesame’s corporate guidelines.   You will be a trusted advisor on legal matters for all departments within the organization. 
• Within 6 months, you will research, develop and manage OpenSesame’s approach to government contracting, which will include making recommendations to leadership based on your knowledge of FAR and other applicable regulations.  

Location:  This position can be based anywhere in the US, west coast preferred.  All positions require 15-35 days of travel per year depending on level.
