The Area of Consideration for this vacancy announcement is US Citizens or NATO country citizens with a valid US permanent resident card and Social Security Number.In accordance with the Status of Forces agreement between Italy and the US, you must be at Aviano AB on orders and be a US citizen or citizen of a NATO country with a US permanent resident card. Italian citizens may not apply for US NAF positions; however, may be eligible for local national positions on base. Must be able to provide documentation proving residence status overseas. Legal US residents must possess a social security number and be citizens of a NATO country.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.

Qualifying Experience:

A basic knowledge of automotive repair such as could be gained at the high school or trade school level preferred.

Ability to use standard and metric automotive hand powered tools required.

Must have effective oral and written communication skills.

Ability to operate a motor vehicle - valid Driver's License is required.

Must be able to frequently lift, handle and carry objects weighing up to 40 pounds, and occasionally, with assistance, objects weighing up to and over 50 pounds.

Must be able to frequently stand, bend, stoop, crawl, and work in tight spaces for long periods of time.
