AVP, Asset Liability Modeling

Job Summary

The AVP, Actuarial Asset Liability Modeling is responsible for multiple actuarial asset/liability projections for F&G Annuities & Life. This individual will lead a team that updates and executes actuarial asset/liability projections, including controls, and analyzes and communicates results. 

This role will report to the VP, Actuarial Asset Liability Modeling and will manage a team of 3-6 individuals.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Provide leadership in utilizing corporate models for analysis and evaluation of key strategic initiatives.
• Foster strong model governance and controls environment, including maintaining comprehensive documentation and executing controlled processes and procedures.
• Lead and collaborate with various teams to understand, develop, and implement model specifications for completing asset/liabiliy projections.
• Lead team to complete accurate and timely model projections and analysis.
• Ad hoc activities as requested by executive management.

Experience and Education Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Science or related field.
• FSA preferred, ASA required.
• Seven - Ten years of related actuarial experience.
• Experience effectively managing a team.
• Experience with and knowledge of AXIS (preferred) or similar actuarial modeling software is required.
• Experience within the Fixed Indexed Annuity, Indexed Universal Life or Pension Risk Transfer lines of business, as well as reinsurance preferred.
• Experience with modeling applications that calculate or project US statutory and US GAAP quantities preferred (e.g., Financial Reporting, Pricing, Asset/Liability Management, Cash Flow Testing).

• Team player with demonstrated ability to proactively identify issues and to influence key project decisions to achieve desired outcomes. Initiative, adaptability and flexibility to produce results.
• Some travel may be required (less than 5%).
