Awards Designer and Illustrator
Job Description
The Award Designer/Illustrator is part of an exceptional team of designers whose primary focus is to contribute to elevating the creative and design quality of custom awards that represent O.C. Tanner's standards of excellence. They areresponsible for creating and designing custom award solutions for our recognition clients including die-struck, milled, and printed awards. They work with manufacturing in the production of these items and provide afoundation for 3D rendering. Working with both internal and external experts, they will research, design and create beautifulrecognition awards the meet client objectives.
Additionally, they will pursue continuous opportunities to develop their design skills.
Responsibilities:
- Illustrate emblems, print collateral, branded products, crystal, lucite and custom products for use in both brochures and web siteswith information supplied by the client using our current templates and business rules
- Work with Senior Award Designers to meet production deadlines including rush requests utilizing templates, libraries and programs
- Collaborate across multiple departments and teams to:
- Ensure art/design workflow aligns strategically with deadlines
- Ensure award designs are consistent with overall creative direction
- Review and understand the scope of any project. Including program information and creative briefs
- Provide input to improve designs, production guidelines and workflow of the Award Design Team
- Understand design and production processes
- Understand the business rules for each product type
- Draft concept illustrations of potential products. Work on enhancing existing product to make it more appealing.
- Use sketches or computer-aided designs to demonstrate product potential
- Participate in discovery research on client's brand, design functionality and production methods
- Utilize client's brand guidelines (colors, logos, imagery) to create a branded look across all designs
- Must be flexible and willing to work on multiple and varied projects simultaneously
- Maintain revisions to illustrations as requested by the client
- Manage and ensure proper file structure and naming conventions are followed
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- Strong graphic design portfolio
- Understanding of Design, Illustration, Creative Process and current industry trends.
- Proficient in Adobe Creative Cloud (specifically Illustrator, InDesign and Photoshop)
- Aptitude to learn 3D modeling and rendering preferred (SolidWorks, Keyshot)
