As the Bookkeeper at 7shifts, you will work closely with the Accounting team to provide support on various administrative, month end, and bookkeeping related tasks. Reporting directly to the Accounting Manager, you’ll be responsible for communicating with internal and external stakeholders to ensure payments and filings are completed in an efficient and timely manner. You will directly impact and elevate the accuracy and timeliness of financial information within an award-winning culture with big and ambitious goals to be the leading workforce management partner to restaurants.

What you’ll do:

  • Own weekly bookkeeping and assist with month end close processes to support the overall financial health of the business
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts (payables, prepaids, etc.) and department level expenditures
  • Monitor and assist with the processing of vendor payments, corporate credit card reconciliations and employee expense reports 
  • Prepare provincial sales tax filings accurately and on time
  • Manage billing and accounting inquiries from internal and external stakeholders 
  • Collaborate internally to establish new processes, increase efficiency  and accuracy of information to support decision making

What you bring:

  • Previous bookkeeping experience in a dynamic, hypergrowth environment
  • In-depth knowledge of accrual bookkeeping, debits and credits, intercompany accounts, and bank reconciliations 
  • Strong Excel or Sheets skills with the ability to splice & dice data 
  • Familiarity with GST, HST, PST, and QST sales tax filings
  • Experience with Netsuite and a love for technology and the ability to learn new software quickly
  • A focus on continuous improvement—you are receptive to feedback and are comfortable in a changing environment
  • A positive approach to problem solving, astute attention to detail and the ability to take independent ownership over assigned responsibilities

  • Experience Airbase
  • Experience performing bookkeeping tasks in multiple currencies
