Business Analyst Reservations (Navitaire)

Summary of the role:

Are you the next Business Analyst, Reservations we are looking for?

  • You will work with Navitaire airline and rail customers to define and document business requirements, technical requirements and business process changes.
  • You will have close collaboration with customers, industry organizations, and other Navitaire teams to identify and deliver successful, innovative products and solutions that support our customer's objectives.
  • You will be a subject matter expert on travel industry systems functionality specifically in offers, orders, and servicing of travel reservations.

In this role you'll:

  • Provide subject matter expertise within Navitaire on reservation system and booking management
  • Represent the Product Management Team on multiple customer implementation project teams
  • Identify new product opportunities
  • Perform business and systems analysis for product initiatives
  • Document and clarify business requirements and produce detailed Agile/Scrum User Stories
  • Contribute to quality assurance efforts by reviewing relevant test cases
  • Perform product validation testing of new functionality
  • Assist with the creation and update of published customer documentation
  • Present functional demonstrations of new and existing software features
  • Work closely with Navitaire Development, Quality Assurance, and Support Teams
  • Support sales pursuits involving current and prospective customers

About the ideal candidate:

  • Previous experience with travel industry systems and applications such as:

    • Global distribution systems
    • Airline pricing applications
    • E-commerce and internet platforms
    • Airline reservations systems/PSS
    • Previous experience with writing functional requirements, conducting business analysis and/or conducting business process design
  • Knowledge of airline and/or travel industry business processes such as:
  • Offer and Booking Management
  • Fee and Tax Management
  • Airline ancillary products and services
  • Schedules
  • Fares & pricing
  • Inventory & revenue management
  • Industry distribution

    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Excellent interpersonal and facilitation skills
    • Proven discipline to work independently in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
    • Flexible work schedule; willing to travel (up to 20%)
  • Preferred Qualifications:

    • Prior experience with Navitaire's New Skies reservation system
    • Knowledge of travel industry groups, practices and/or standards: NDC, IATA
    • Experience with scrum/agile methodology
  • Education: Bachelor's degree or above.
