At Yahoo, we pride ourselves with being partner-friendly and creating delightful experiences for our users. The Yahoo Commerce team is seeking a highly motivated and qualified candidate for the position of Business Development, Director.
This individual will be a critical member of the Commerce organization and will work closely with our Commerce leadership team, Finance, Product, Editorial, and Global Business Unit leaders across other Yahoo verticals. This individual will source, negotiate and execute global strategic partnerships that impact our Commerce Affiliate business.
Responsibilities
- Build a strong knowledge of Yahoo's full suite of product capabilities across multiple Yahoo properties to identify partnership opportunities
- Perform market analysis to identify partner prospects
- Build pitches that clearly illustrates partner opportunities and value in working with Yahoo
- Work with products teams on product innovation based on partner insights
- Team up with Yahoo's legal team to negotiate term sheets and contracts
- Team up with Yahoo's finance team to build realistic financial models
- Develop and present clear strategic and financial rationale for deals as well as risks and mitigation plans
- Prepare internal deal update presentations and approval documentations
- Stay integrated with partnership launches and execution, and be a thought leader in creating new experiences
Basic Skills/Requirements:
- 5+ years of relevant Business Development experience, including experience in partner management
- Ability to independently identify, analyze, negotiate and execute BD deals
- Complete fluency interpreting, drafting and negotiating contracts
- Team player who always considers the impact to Yahoo's goals & their team
- Experience in building close "trusted advisor" relationships with external partners
- Experience managing peer relationships
- Demonstrated success working in a cross-functional environment
- Strong communication skills (written, verbal, and presentation)
- Go getter/hunter/closer/entrepreneur
- Can do, resilient and positive attitude
- Ability to work well under pressure/tight timeframes
- BA/BS required
Preferred Skills/Qualifications:
- Thorough understanding of the commerce affiliate network/business with particular focus on the Yahoo's offerings across the network
- 10-15+ years of professional experience and strong proven credentials doing end-to-end business development
- Effective project management skills to manage multiple deals with varying priorities
- Outstanding verbal, presentation & written communication skills directed to day-to-day contacts & up to C-level executives
- Strong computer skills including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Keynote and Salesforce
- BA/BS degree in either business, computer science, marketing or equivalent experience

If hired for this position in Colorado, the compensation range for this position is between $144,000.00 - $240,000.00. The compensation may vary depending on your location, skills and experience. The compensation package may also include additional incentive compensation opportunities in the form of discretionary annual bonus or commissions, plus equity incentives. Yahoo provides industry-leading benefits including healthcare, retirement, company holidays, vacation, sick time, parental leave and an employee assistance program.
