Business Development Managers identify market opportunities to meet or exceed established growth goals. They increase the quality of leads generated by targeting specific prospects and improve deal closure rate through research and outreach to identified prospects to qualify and advance opportunities. Success includes maintaining strong relationships with individuals that have influence in our target markets, educating current and prospective clients regarding product and service offerings, company initiatives, and industry initiatives. Business Development Managers partner closely and develop new business in coordination with Regional Vice Presidents. They develop and implement a marketing plan focusing on prospecting and networking to develop relationships that result in sales opportunities. Business Development Managers attend and represent the company at regional industry conferences, as well as maintain accurate information in the CRM tool (SalesForce.com). Travel approximately 50%.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Establish and execute against new business strategies
- Execute effective short- and long-term sales strategies for identifying and securing prospective customers
- Develop prospective customer profiles to identify specific health system buying needs
- Maintain standard reference of information needs to evaluate the portfolios of prospective customers for full-revenue cycle outsourcing and point solutions
- Work cooperatively with key internal departments to develop sales funnel projections and deal pursuit strategies
Industry knowledge and development efforts for CorroHealth’s sales team
- Identify and evaluate current market and potential new targets
- Research new markets that correspond to our core competencies
- Aid the sales teams by identifying attractive sole source leads and keeping track of upcoming RFP releases
- Review RFPs prior to Management review to qualify them
- Gather market intelligence on RFPs and aid response team in developing a tailored response
Sales activities – Direct contact and networking with industry
- Perform calls and meetings with perspective clients
- Utilize the current sales team to mine relationships
- Work with internal teams to develop sales presentations to capture business opportunities
- Maintain excellent client relationships with existing and prospects
DECISION-MAKING LATITUDE:
This individual will be responsible for researching and making recommendations for new business opportunities.
Will determine and drive a wide range of priorities to maintain and grow CorroHealth’s Sales and Marketing efforts. Decisions will include developing business strategies for each opportunity and service offering:
- Determining which prospects to target and developing a pipeline of prospects
- Participating in the negotiation of terms with prospects
- Helping shape marketing strategies, plans and expectations
Much of this individual’s work will be independent, although this position will work closely with Management on overall strategy and deal structure and on direct-to-consumer marketing strategies and tactics. Key decisions will be subject to review and approval of management.
EDUCATION:
Bachelor’s Degree: Business, marketing, sales, or public administration
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
- 5+ years of experience in sales/business development, healthcare industry preferred
- Proven track record of developing new businesses
- Excellent ability to articulate of CorroHealth’s value proposition and offerings
- Demonstrated initiative / personal drive in accurately identifying and qualifying leads
- Ability to network with clients’ key decision makers
- Ability to manage multiple client buyers
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize and manage time effectively
- Ability to maintain expense control
- Excellent planning / systematic organization skills to conduct calls and follow up on meetings
- Excellent interpersonal and communications skills
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES:
- Aptitude for sales to state agencies and private, non-profit guarantors
- Excellent presentation skills
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Excellent proficiency using: Sales Force, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, GroupWise, etc.
- Ability to think strategically
- Strong relationship-building and negotiation skills
- Ability to work cross-functionally and as part of a team
- Willingness to travel up to 50%
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The ability to perform work at a computer terminal for 6-8 hours a day and function in an environment with constant interruptions is required. At times, Team Members are subject to sitting for prolonged periods. Infrequently, Team Member must be able to lift and move material weighing up to 20 lbs. Team Member may experience elevated levels of stress during periods of increased activity and with work entailing multiple deadlines.
