The Opportunity
We are seeking a highly motivated Business Development Manager who will play a
critical role in driving revenue by bringing in new projects and winning bids. This
position requires a proven track record in securing contracts, building client/vendor
partnerships, and generating consistent business growth.
Key Responsibilities
· Proactively identify, pursue, and secure new business opportunities and projects to meet
or exceed revenue and growth targets within Calgary and Alberta wide markets.
· Lead the end-to-end proposal and bid process, including opportunity assessment,
strategy development, writing, editing, submission, and delivery.
· Develop persuasive proposals in response to RFPs, RFIs, and other opportunities.
· Build, manage and strengthen long-term strong relationships with clients, vendors,
partners and decision-makers to expand market presence and partnerships.
· Conduct ongoing market and competitive research to identify new business channels,
emerging opportunities, industry trends and strategies to stay ahead of competitors.
· Negotiate contracts and close deals with prospective clients.
· Collaborate with internal teams to align business development strategies with company
goals.
· Own and manage a structured business development pipeline, including but not limited
to lead qualification, opportunity tracking, forecasting and reporting.
· Maintain accountability for project acquisition, revenue generation, margin
performance, profitability and overall contribution to company growth.
· Support seamless handover of awarded projects to delivery teams and maintain client
engagement to encourage repeat business and long term relationships.
· Identify opportunities for upselling, cross selling and expanding existing client
accounts.
· Develop and execute regional business development to penetrate targeted verticals and
expand Lexia Communications footprint in Calgary and across Alberta.
· Establish and manage strategic partnerships, alliances, and channel relationships with
vendors, integrators and industry stakeholders.
· Ensure all proposals and contracts align with company standards, regulatory
environments and risk management practices.
· Represent Lexia Communications at industry events, networking functions and client
meetings to enhance brand visibility and credibility.
What We’re Looking For
· Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related field.
· 7–10+ years of proven experience in proposal management and business development.
· Strong history of bringing in projects/contracts and achieving revenue targets.
· Excellent negotiation and deal-closing skills.
· Outstanding project management and organizational skills.
· Exceptional communication and relationship-building abilities.
· Knowledge of industry trends and competitive landscape.
