Business Operations Program Manager
Job Description
The Vendor and Hardware Management team in the Windows + Devices Division is responsible for identifying, developing, and leading global sourcing. We are seeking an experienced Business Operations Program manager who is proficient with data and data analysis and has a willingness to go deep into the details. We are interest in those with passion for superior user experience, possess an operational mind, and have the ability to explore and produce innovative solutions in ambiguous and challenging problem space.
In this role you will be able to exercise your program coordination and project management skills; demonstrate your attention to detail; drive collaborative efforts across various teams; and achieve success with tight deadlines with multiple competing priorities .
Qualifications:
Required/Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Operations, Finance or related field AND 2+ years' work experience in program management, process management, process improvement
- OR equivalent experience.
- 2+ years' experience in hardware and external resources procurement - including managing vendor engagements, contract management and negotiations.
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to, the following specialized security screenings:
- Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Attention to detail and ability to simultaneously manage multiple tasks and priorities
- Proven ability to effectively operationalize processes to scale programs
- Experience in negotiating 3rd party companies including suppliers and resource agencies
- Ability to succeed as a team player while positively and constructively influence stakeholders
- Proficient cross-group collaboration skills.
- Ability to deal with ambiguity and changing business requirements
- Hands-on approach to improve processes while working with others

Responsibilities:
- Work with Development, Quality, Design, PM, and User Research teams to understand operations requirements and drive solutions for their critical work items
- Work with various managers, budget owners, operations staff, and finance to create and track budget projections in vendor and hardware spend categories
- Provide input into and/or implement account policies and procedures to ensure that appropriate business controls are established and operating effectively
- Drive for and ensure issues are responded to and resolved within a standard SLA
- Drive processes to ensure the outsourced service provider and hardware providers meets performance expectations for consistency, accuracy, and timeliness of delivery
- Identify opportunities for improvement within a process or service to reduce cycle time and improve the customer experience
- Actively seek opportunities to increase agility and drive simplification by identifying future needs to evolve processes, services, and solutions
