About the Role
The Business Process Specialist is a non-technical generalist position that supports the Software Engineering department by focusing on people and operations to optimize and scale current business processes (i.e., look for ways to improve productivity and internal service, reduce costs, and make the best use of company resources). In this role, the Business Process Specialist must investigate process-related and operational pain points, iterate, and test solutions before implementation. This role must collaborate across teams and time zones effectively and positively to solve business problems related to Software Engineering.Â
What You’ll Do
- Partner with leaders to optimize and maintain staffing and future headcount plans for the department. Coordinate department staffing across different geographic locales
- Conduct surveys, analyze collected data, and create data visualizations which convey the department’s capabilities in continuous delivery, architecture, product and process, lean practices, and culture
- Regularly coordinate and interact with people across the company, especially department leaders, project leads, and teams
- Document and organize process information
- Coordinate and conduct annual and quarterly planning engagement of the engineering team, including the identification of goals and tracking of results
- Identify and implement initiatives which enhance teambuilding, collaboration, and innovation (e.g., hackathons, internal conferences [JustAnswer Software Engineering Conference])
What We’re Looking For
- Knowledge of project management methodologies and approaches, including project planning procedures and best practices
- Knowledge and skill in strategic analysis
- Knowledge of process mapping and improvement procedures and best practices
- Experience with organizational change management methodologies, procedures, and best practices
- Knowledge of lean methodologies and practices
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in social sciences, business, or a STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) discipline
- 5 years of progressive work experience in process improvement, project management, strategic planning, or a similar role
- Availability to work in different time zones when needed (usually, early mornings if you're on the west coast)

Work Environment
JustAnswer US has adopted a remote-first/full-remote work environment from most US-based locations. Some teams do occasionally have the option to meet in-person for teaming, collaboration, or social events. With employee wellbeing as a top priority, where legally permissible, employees are required to be fully vaccinated against Covid-19 to attend these optional in-person events.
