Job Description
Worldwide Deal Desk (DD) encompasses more than 300 employees, and the success and reputation of the DD is well established across all parts of Microsoft, for driving billions of dollars of "good business" through their expertise on deal-making. DD Deal Managers make empowered decisions using business judgement and working very closely with field sellers on Deal Structuring, Pricing, Investments, Terms and Conditions, spanning across Commercial and Services businesses.
This role sits within the Deal Desk Execution Team, which is, amongst other topics, responsible to partner closely with worldwide Deal Managers on Global End Customer Investment Funds (ECIF) and Global Azure Credit Offering (ACO) Investments, used to win our most strategic and important deals. The role will focus on (1) coaching worldwide Deal Managers on Global Investment requests from the field, (2) providing subject matter expertise on selected Investment Business topics (such as ACO), and (3) collaborating with all business partners within and outside of the Deal Desk on topics owned as expert.
In this regard, we are looking for a Business Program Manager with strong sales and deal making background (or seller with strong program management skills), who loves to work in a fast-paced environment where agility and timely execution is key. The ideal candidate is passionate about connecting with Deal Managers and Sales Teams in the field and is comfortable having discussions on all Microsoft products and Licensing forms. Creativity, resourcefulness, and risk taking are a must. Additionally, as a key member of the DD Investment Team, the ideal candidate will always be ready for change and be excited about taking on broader projects and responsibilities.ResponsibilitiesKey Responsibilities:
- Partner with Deal Managers on Global End Customer Investment (ECIF) and Azure Credit Offering (ACO) asks, and ensure they have all information required for an investment decision
- Be the subject matter expert for all ACO Investment-related questions that Deal Managers and our business partners might have
- Ensure the DD Investment Support team is proactively engaged with the Deal Managers work on investment asks, and is providing the expected value
- Ensure ECIF and ACO asks are compliant with Microsoft and DD funding policy and guidance, identifying non-standard cases and driving the compliance process in partnership with Finance, Compliance, Ops, Revenue Recognition and other Corp business partners
- Collaborate closely with key business partner stakeholders, and ensure the right people get engaged in Investment Asks topics that you own as subject matter expert (such as ACO)
- Partner closely with the readiness subject matter expert to ensure Investment Ask processes are well understood by Deal Managers and our business partners
- Partner closely with Finance teams on all finance relevant aspects of investments and deals
- Collaborate with business partners, especially with Finance, to improve and land the Deal Desk Empowerment policies for the Global Investments business
- Generate business insights and capture learnings to share through weekly/monthly newsletters and through our activities with the field
- Ensure marketing moments and DD Investments driven events for topics that you own as subject matter expert are on strategy and consistent
- Be open to job enrichments, leading to additional responsibilities that you might have in the mid-to-long term
- The ideal candidate has 7+ years of experience across a mix of business program management or sales roles at Microsoft
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Management or MBA are preferred, but not a must
- Exceptional business program management and strong sales skills
- Exceptional written and verbal communications skills required, proven in sales or program-management related jobs, ideally at Microsoft
- Storytelling skills that improve customer and business partner experiences
- Experience in working with Decision Makers and Senior Executives
- Proven capabilities of exemplary impact through cross-group collaboration and partnerships with Finance and Sales teams, ideally at Microsoft
- Willingness to roll up your sleeves to get the work done or to go the extra mile
- Strong and positive personal work ethic, that fits a startup-like working environment
- Flexible person and quick learner who operates with a sense of urgency
