Job Description

The Basics: 

Develop business opportunities and sales across National State & Local Governments for the Tanium product suite. Further develop and evangelize the Tanium Whole of State strategy in the field and at the national level. 

What you’ll do: 

  • Drive incremental revenues pertaining to long term Whole of State strategy for Tanium
  • Create the voice in the SLED space and allows the person to have a high-level strategic partnership with Tanium Sales and which unfolds into a sale
  • SLG speaking/panel sessions to promote Tanium
  • Attend SLED roundtables - discuss best practices, elevated discussions, engaged in all national events including Blackhat, NASCIO, RSA, and Etc.
  • Conduct Executive (CIO/CISO) level meetings - focused on Net new logos
  • Develop and implement a strategic sales plan to attract the attention of State and Local Government CIO’s
  • Partner with Alliances - Discuss needed Alliances, and drive needed state contracts
  • Build, deepen and maintain high level contacts with current and prospective business partners to increase market penetration and brand recognition. Meet one-on-one with CIO’s and CISO’s to educate them on the advantages of the Tanium products
  • Deliver presentations on Tanium products to CIO’s and CISO’s to grow the business across the country
  • Identify and attend relevant industry and regional events and trade shows to network and develop new business opportunities. Use conferences to increase brand recognition and product penetration in the assigned regions
  • Increase product sales and ensure the short, medium and long term profitability of the portfolio of products
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
  • Establish weekly communication cadence with SLED sales Leadership across the Country
  • Position may be required to travel up to 60% to cover an assigned geographic region 

We’re looking for someone with: 

  • Education 
  • BS/BA degree in a related field 
  • Strong working knowledge of the SLED vertical and how IT functions within it 
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills 
  • A team player able to work effectively in a team fostered, multi-tasking environment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, e.g. Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Salesforce
  • A minimum of 10+ years related experience in the State, Local, and Government vertical
  • Knowledge of Public Sector, Civilian/DoD a plus

What you’ll get 

The annual base salary range for this full-time position is $140,000 to $415,000. This range is an estimate for what Tanium will pay a new hire. The actual annual base salary offered may be adjusted based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, location, education, skills, training, and experience.
