Cloud Applications Systems Administrator (3409) (Secret)

SMX is seeking a Cloud Systems Administrator responsible for analyzing and improving the cloud applications and systems supporting 33 of the Navy’s C-FRACAS users including the F/A-18 Super Hornet, CH-53 Sea King, V-22 Osprey, and many more. This includes collecting and analyzing cloud performance metrics, identifying areas for improvement, and developing and implementing applications and solutions. The Cloud Systems Administrator will also work with other contracts supporting our SMX Team to ensure that changes are implemented effectively.

The US Navy Common-Failure Reporting, Analysis and Correction Action System (C-FRACAS) is a vital program to naval aviation data integrity. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:  

• Provision, configure, and administer cloud environments for classified DoD applications on platforms like AWS GovCloud.
• Implement and enforce stringent security protocols to safeguard sensitive government data, adhering to DoD's Information Assurance (IA) standards (e.g., DoD 8140/8570).
• Monitor and troubleshoot cloud application performance, ensuring optimal functionality, high availability, and swift resolution of technical issues.
• Collaborate with developers and security teams to ensure secure application deployment, configuration management, and ongoing maintenance.
• Automate routine tasks using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform or Ansible to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
• Stay up-to-date on the latest cloud technologies, security best practices, and evolving DoD cloud compliance requirements.

Required Skills: 

• Mandatory: Possession of a Secret DoD security clearance.
• Possession of CompTIA Security+
• Proven experience managing and securing cloud-based applications in a government or highly regulated environment.
• In-depth knowledge of leading cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) with a focus on application deployment, configuration, and security.
• Solid understanding of Linux and Windows server administration.
• Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) for automation and scripting tasks.
• Strong working knowledge of application lifecycle management (ALM) principles.
