Cloud Front-End Engineering Lead

This is a remote position

Thread is a growing team of software engineers, robotics specialists, aviation experts, and machine learning professionals building the software that industries are adopting for integrating robotics workflows into enterprise systems. We use robotics, advanced computer vision techniques, neural networks, and emerging technologies to autonomously capture, package, transport, integrate and act on data.  

As part of the Thread Cloud team, you will grow our autonomous drone management tools and enable our research teams to deliver new and exciting autonomous flight and machine learning products. The software you create will be used to interface with our robots, cloud services, and supportive tooling. While working in a fast-paced environment with experienced team members, you will be responsible for understanding business requirements and constraints, converting those into wireframes and mockups, and supporting the team in creating a unified product interface. 

• Lead a small team of engineers to design and implement the front-end platform of the UNITI product 
• Use your knowledge and experience to help guide implementation decisions across the team 
• Serve as a role model and mentor to other members of your team 
• Actively participate in work assignment and scheduling decisions 
• Participate as an individual contributor to write code, write tests, and code review the work of others in furtherance of product and business goals 

• 5+ years professional experience designing web application in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, or TypeScript 
• 5+ years experience with creating user interfaces for web applications 
• 5+ years experience with major JavaScript frameworks (Svelte, jQuery, React, or Angular) 
• Expert-level knowledge of Svelte and TypeScrip

Preference will be given to candidates who also have: 

• Experience with Tailwind CSS 
• Experience with robotics, aviation, or machine learning 
• Experience with Go or Python 
• Experience with source control management (Git) 
• Experience with cross-browser compatibility 
• Exposure to continuous integration and delivery 

As a part of the Thread Team, your time will be spent working both independently and as a group to complete critical projects and develop solutions to advance the goals of the company and its customers.  

Work hours are flexible and regulated by the projects required by your team and team supervisor.
