Cloud Product Manager

Job Opportunity

The Product Manager for public cloud is responsible for owning the vision and strategy driving a consistent cloud experience across Yellowbrick products. The successful candidate has a deep understanding of public cloud technology and features, and an established network of contacts within the industry. This product manager works closely with customers, partners and field teams to identify cloud requirements, map these to Yellowbrick product capabilities, and identify gaps in the portfolio. The PM works directly with engineering, marketing and field teams to ensure that Yellowbrick develops strong cloud offerings with a rich user experience; they also translate complex business requirements into user stories to populate the product backlogs that drive engineering efforts. 

The Yellowbrick Product Management team drives the vision and roadmap for Yellowbrick offerings for public cloud and for on-premises data centers. We work cross-functionally to deliver compelling offerings that matter to our customers, our company and our team.  

 Responsibility: 

• Own key elements of Yellowbrick’s cloud product portfolio, strategy, roadmap and backlog 
• Create user stories with well-defined requirements and acceptance criteria 
• Be the ‘voice of the customer’ for the engineering team, and a key focal point in day-to-day technical development, execution quality and performance 
• Drive product requirements to satisfy customer needs, market opportunity and company strategic objectives
• Work closely with engineering, sales, marketing, customer support and documentation to make sure all needs of the organization are addressed
• Assist in program management activities with cross functional teams required to ensure smooth release cycles
• Brief prospects, customers, analysts, 3rd party influencers and partners on the vision and strategy for Yellowbrick’s cloud offerings 

 Work Environment: 

This position is a virtual role. The successful candidate will: 

• Have product/program management experience in public cloud and software-as-a-service delivery 
• Have a good understanding of existing and emerging public cloud trends 
• Be able to prioritize the requirements in the context of the entire portfolio 
• Experience in Agile and fast-paced/iterative development environments
• Have experience with developing market driven user stories, functional requirements, and specifications
• Have knowledge of software release processes with the ability to apply it to the deployment process and the evaluation of future release enhancements
• Have exceptional ability to impact and influence business results where cross group collaboration is required using strong facilitation and consensus building skills 

Qualifications: 

• Undergraduate degree in computer science or related technical field 
• Outstanding written and oral communication skills 
• Proven ability to execute over the entire product lifecycle guided by performance metrics 
• ‘Outside-in’ viewpoint, fully aware of the competitive set and industry trends, and how to reconcile with company strategy 
• Ability to own the product vision and manage the product backlog from a practical perspective
• Ability to lead and facilitate project meetings, team coordination, issue resolution, and action item tracking
• Hands-on experience building and delivering services build on cloud platforms including AWS, Azure and GCP
• Highly desirable:
  • Track record of taking a cloud product from conception and definition through to implementation, and of taking it to market
  • Deep understanding of public cloud infrastructure, including compute, storage and networking
  • Excellent understanding of the enterprise data warehousing and analytics market
  • Ability to analyze competitors, perform SWOT analysis, and estimate market potential of feature and product
