s23NYC is Nike's first digital experience studio and the driving force behind some of the brand's most memorable experiential community shopping moments (as featured in Fast Company, Engadget, TechCrunch and others). Tucked in the heart of New York, s23NYC is a dedicated team of marketers, designers, makers, and engineers focused on reimagining how Nike's most dedicated fans unlock, discover, and think about their kicks. With a passion for sneakers and an emphasis on rewarding the community that loves them, s23NYC builds, designs and deploys innovative, interactive, and slightly mischievous features for the Nike SNKRS app.

This application is targeted towards the sneaker enthusiast, and it's function extends beyond the digital storefront. While shoes are a consumer staple, Nike's success in footwear owes a phenomenal deal to the lifestyle brand and image that the company has cultivated, and there exists a sizable market of sneaker enthusiasts. A culture has developed around the products that places a premium on fashion and rarity, and the SNKRS app represents an attempt by Nike to further bridge sneaker culture into the social-media sphere.
IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL BE:
- Innovating, architecting, designing and implementing highly available, scalable systems, focusing on highly visible projects that directly impact the customer experience

- Supplying ideas for new features and identifying areas for improvement proactively

- Collaborating with mobile development and product team members at Nike to design, develop, and deploy highly scalable experience APIs and services

- Provide technical leadership and best engineering practices to initiate, plan, and execute unique and innovative programs

- Writing clean, tested, and well-documented code

QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering, Information Systems or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience

- 5+ years' experience developing highly scalable APIs and services

- Fluency with Python, and/or Node.js, Java, C#

- Experience with Serverless technologies like AWS Lambda

- Ability to work closely with Product Managers, other development teams, and QA teams

- Be a self-starter with a passion for technology and a burning desire to constantly improve yourself, the product, and the codebase

- Working in an agile environment.

- Openness to new technologies and creative solutions

- Experience estimating work, planning, organization and implementing complex software projects

*Remote Work Option - Open to remote work, except cannot work in South Dakota, Vermont, and West Virginia. These candidates will be required to relocate.
