Job Description
Summary:
Serves as a primary contact for communication consulting needs related to line-of-business (LOB) strategy and culture communications or operational communications. The Communications Analyst creates a multidisciplinary team approach by acting as a liaison between LOB leaders, Corporate Communications and other key internal business areas. This partnership creates and deploys planned communications throughout the division to support the vision and direction while allowing employees to tie back their daily efforts to how they support the strategy. This incumbent provides internal and external customers with guidance and direction to support the success of client base and company partnerships and goals.
Essential Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
• Serves as a communications resource and liaison to senior leadership and other internal business areas.
• Organizes initiatives that communicate strategy and culture, as well as changes and improvements in operational systems and resources. Constantly seeks opportunities to improve team functioning.
• Creates and develops different modalities for communication that allow employees to connect with our Segment, Strategy, and Performance (SSP) and corporate strategies. Uses innovative approaches in reaching audiences.
• Examines corporate-wide trends and prepare this information in a shareable format to enable both senior management and our internal/external customers to better understand, evaluate, and decide potential actions and probable impact.
• Develops marketing and communication programs; aids in development of solutions to meet future communication needs.
• Communicates the benefits of the available organizational tools and how leveraging them can improve productivity and/or benefit employee engagement. Correlates organizational needs with available solutions.
• May serve as subject matter expert and department liaison for business resilience, crisis communications, disaster recovery and external communications review.
• May serve as communications lead for mandated member communications.
• Creation and ownership of a divisional SharePoint site.
• Support all employee and leader meetings for the SSP Division.

• Maintains high regard for member privacy in accordance with the corporate privacy policies and procedures.

• Performs other functions as assigned by management.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Six (6) or more years of communications or related experience, or Bachelor's degree in Communications or related field (preferred).
• Minimum of three (3) years of experience in corporate communications and/or strategy communications.
• Demonstrated knowledge of health care trends, design of communications strategy, constituent impact, modalities of communication and their impact on employee performance and/or engagement.
• Demonstrated ability to identify adverse trends and unusual practice patterns within reports.
• Ability to deliver timely communications and ad-hoc updates with actionable recommendations to customers in a format that is easy to understand.
• Ability to lead knowledge transfer and discussion around communications strategies and tactics.
• Proven track record managing increasingly independent and/or complex assignments over time.
• Exceptional communication (oral and written), presentation, and interpersonal skills. Ability to interact with internal and external customers and with all levels of management.
Physical Requirements:
• Ability to work prolonged periods sitting and/or standing at a workstation and working on a computer.
• Ability to travel across the Health Plan service region for meetings and/or trainings as needed.
Salary Range(s):
The salary range indicated in this posting represents the minimum and maximum of the salary range for this position. Actual salary will vary depending on factors including, but not limited to, budget available, prior experience, knowledge, skill and education as they relate to the position's minimum qualifications, in additional to internal equity. The posted salary range reflects just one component of Excellus's total rewards package. Other components of the total rewards package may include participation in group health and/or dental insurance, retirement plan, wellness program, paid time away from work, and paid holidays.
Min: 55,500.00 - Max:103,000.00
