About the Role

Flex Compliance is seeking an experienced and qualified Financial Crimes and Regulatory Compliance professional to fill the role of Compliance Manager (CM) supporting the Credit Risk team.

You will develop and implement all 2nd-line aspects of the Financial Crimes Compliance (“FCC”) Program and compliance.  You will implement the FCC Program with the 1st-line Credit Risk team. In addition, you will assist with the implementation and oversight of Flex’s Compliance Management System (CMS) for the Credit Risk team.    

The position will be remote first, though you are welcome to work from our New York or Dallas offices.

What You’ll Do

General duties of the CM include but are not limited to the following:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain a Financial Crimes Compliance (AML/BSA) Program, and ID/Theft Red Flags Program that clearly align with legal and regulatory requirements
  • Assist in developing, maintaining, and implementing compliance policies that clearly set forth legal and regulatory requirements to which Flex Credit Risk team must adhere
  • Collaborate with 1st-line Credit Risk management to develop and implement operational procedures and process controls designed to assure compliance
  • Advise and oversee Credit Risk implementation to regulatory requirements, including; Collections, Fraud, Credit bureau reporting, etc.
  • Coordinate risk assessments with Credit Risk to identify and measure compliance risks and the adequacy of controls to mitigate those risks 
  • Create monitoring, testing, and reporting of Credit Risk’s compliance to identify and remediate deficiencies
  • Participate and assist in discussions with Credit Risk leaders on compliance matters, including strategic priorities, risk assessments, regulatory change management, compliance monitoring and testing, training, issues management, consumer complaints, and third-party risk
  • Engage with Credit Risk management on the development and implementation of new or material changes to products or services to assess compliance risks and ensure appropriate mechanisms are in place to monitor and mitigate those risks
  • Assist in issue management which may include developing and presenting analysis and reporting
  • Assist with compliance audits and regulatory examinations and spearhead corrective actions and remediation efforts

Who You Are:

Experience and qualifications for the CM role include the following:

  • Minimum of 5-7 years in regulatory compliance, or relevant legal field, with experience in banking compliance 
  • Bachelor’s or higher degree
  • Certified Anti-Money Laundering (CAMs) required
  • Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager (CRCM) preferred
  • Experience in fintech bank partnership model preferred
  • Experience in Financial Crimes Compliance and building Programs for compliance
  • Experience executing a Compliance Management System (CMS) including risk assessment, monitoring and testing, training, and issue management
  • Working knowledge of federal consumer protection laws and regulations to include but not limited to BSA, US Patriot Act, OFAC/sanctions,  ECOA, TILA, FCRA, FDCPA, SCRA/MLA, GLBA, UDAAP, and Fair Lending
  • Working knowledge of consumer lending and/or payment operations 
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills 
  • Adaptable and able to work in a changing environment

The national pay range for this role is $150,000-$180,000. Individual compensation will be commensurate with the candidate's experience aligned with Flex's internal leveling guidelines.
