Affirm is currently hiring for a Compliance Program Manager. This role will lead our Compliance Bank Partnership and Audit Management function and will work closely with both the Compliance and Capital Markets teams. This role will be charged with bridging internal processes and practices with external bank partner requirements. The Compliance Program Manager will be responsible for formalizing processes between internal teams and bank partners to create efficiencies around the increasing amount of compliance activities required by the bank partnership business model.
This person must have a solid knowledge of consumer compliance laws, regulations and best practices and will be required to recognize how they relate to Affirm's business model. They should also be able to articulate key Compliance risks at Affirm and the controls Affirm employs to mitigate those risks. This person will act as a primary contact on the Compliance team for bank partners. They will also independently fulfill external testing and monitoring requests, coordinate directly with key collaborators to fulfill various external obligations, and manage internal and external audit processes end-to end from a Compliance perspective. This is a highly visible role that will require this person to engage with various partners internally and externally.
This person will report to the Compliance Director, Monitoring, Testing & Audit Manager.
What you'll do
  • Serve as the main point of contact for Compliance for bank partner requests. Engage the appropriate Compliance personnel as needed, and provide ongoing support for key initiatives.
  • Own bank partner testing and monitoring initiatives.
  • Lead end-to-end external audit activities and coordinate with bank partners to satisfy audit obligations. Manage internal audit requests and engagements.
  • Develop a framework for Compliance engagement with Capital Markets to ensure proper level of engagement, communication and approvals are maintained timely.
  • Implement ongoing process improvements to create maximum efficiency in a multi-bank partner loan origination model.
  • Lead various ongoing meetings with bank partners and Compliance stakeholders.

What we look for
  • 5-7 years of experience in Compliance, Enterprise Risk or Audit function
  • Experience in managing or supporting audit activities
  • Experience with managing internal and external stakeholders relationships
  • Experience in communicating complex information in a digestible format
  • Ability to handle ambiguity in a fast paced environment
  • High level of attention to detail
  • SQL experience - a plus, but not required
