About U.C.I.
Established in 2004, U.C.I. is a Delaware County, Pennsylvania construction company serving Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware. We offer the following services: concrete cutting (slab sawing, core drilling, hand sawing), residential and commercial demolition (selective and structural), trenching for underground utilities, masonry and concrete finishing work. We presently have 30 employees and over 30 service trucks. We take job site safety very seriously and are fully compliant with the OSHA Respirable Crystalline Silica Rule. Our laborers and shop employees have OSHA 10-hour certification or better, our operators and foremen have OSHA 30-hour certification and our Safety Officer has OSHA 500 certification.
Job Summary
We are hiring for 2 open positions. We are seeking a Concrete Site Supervisor to perform and oversee concrete work and a Demolition Site Supervisor to perform and oversee demolition work.
Requirements
ยท U.S. citizen, non-U.S. citizen national, lawful permanent resident, or a worker granted asylum or refugee status
ยท Successful clearance of criminal background check, drug screening and credit check
ยท Age 21 or older
ยท English fluency
ยท Valid Class C driverโs license, clean driving record (no recent moving violations)
ยท Medical card for driverโs license
ยท High school diploma or equivalent OR completion of a vocational training plan in a related field
ยท Basic computer literacy
ยท Current CPR and First Aid certifications preferred
ยท OSHA 10-hour certification preferred
ยท Minimum of 2 years of experience in general construction
ยท Physical stamina and ability to perform strenuous tasks
ยท Ability to work independently
ยท Ability to operate heavy machinery and job-specific equipment
ยท Knowledge of tools, techniques, equipment and safety procedures related to demolition work
ยท Knowledge of relevant building codes
ยท Good organizational, conflict resolution, problem-solving and communication skills
ยท Ability to effectively delegate, problem solve, and make decisions
ยท Ability to effectively oversee the crew and exemplify teamwork
ยท Ability to motivate and earn the crewโs trust and respect
Job Responsibilities
ยท Operates demolition equipment and tools
ยท Oversees the work of crews
ยท Communicates with superintendent to coordinate tasks required for job completion
ยท Makes on-site decisions affecting crew
ยท Escalates disciplinary issues to foreman
ยท Helps to settle disputes between crew and foreman
ยท Reports daily progress to manager
ยท Adheres to U.C.I.โs policies and procedures
ยท Performs other duties as assigned by superintendent
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $50,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
