Controller - Remote US

The Opportunity

This hands-on and enthusiastic Controller will have the unique opportunity  to lead and grow our Accounting team from an early stage. You will be responsible for all areas relating to accounting and financial reporting, treasury and cash management, designing and implementing accounting policies, improving procedures and internal controls for our rapidly growing company.

This is a highly visible position that will work closely with senior management, cross-functional teams, and external partners. The ideal candidate will have a mix of start-up, or other high-growth environment.

Responsibilities

• Create and implement strong internal controls around accounting, financial reporting, and operational processes
• Maintain a tight control over the cash flow management, including Payroll, Accounts Payable, Invoicing, and Accounts Receivable
• Manage the annual auditing process and preparation for annual financial audit activities
• Manage the monthly closing process and preparation of the related monthly reporting package  
• Oversee the billing process to ensure invoices and collections are generated in a complete, accurate and timely manner on all accounts
• Lead implementation of new financial systems, including new spend management platform and upgrade of existing general ledger system from QuickBooks to NetSuite or Sage Inacct to accommodate for the company’s growth
• Design and develop other automation of accounting processes and reporting infrastructure while ensuring productivity and control in the back office operations.
• Provide data and reporting for board meetings and senior leadership as needed

What you Bring

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business
• Minimum 8 years accounting and finance experience
• CPA and/or MBA and prior Big 4 experience a plus 
• Experience in High growth SaaS subscription-based business a plus 
• Experience with modern mid-tier accounting systems such as NetSuite or Intacct
• Demonstrated proficiency in financial analysis and prepare financial statements
• Self-starter who thrives in start-up environments. Proven ability and desire to work effectively and deliver accurate results under tight deadlines
• Excellent verbal, written communication and presentation skills; must be able to confidently and effectively communicate finance and accounting concepts to those who are unfamiliar with financial terms.
