The Corporate Accounting Manager (CAM) performs corporate accounting functions for M3, resulting in accurate & timely financial data and reporting for the Executive Team.  CAM is responsible for documenting processes and procedures in place, as well as creating processes according to best practices and GAAP for AR, AP, Purchasing and readiness for audit and review. CAM will work independently with minimal review and oversight by the EVP Finance. CAM will work closely with AR and AP providing general guidance on accounting related decisions.  CAM is responsible for the supervision of the Finance Department staff.
Essential Duties:
The duties listed below are the essential functions of this position, and they may change as the needs of the company demand. All associates are expected to do what is necessary to get the work done and to cooperate fully with their supervisor’s requests for additional or altered duties.Â
- Daily bank reconciliation
- Prepare and maintain documentation for all accounting functions
- Create new and improve current processes
- Work closely with the AR and AP teams in order to help with reconciliation issues, coding and recording data accurately and providing general guidance on accounting related decisions.
- Assist EVP Finance with Treasury
- Interfaces with executive level and individual contributors with ease and confidence.
- Journal entries on a daily or monthly basis
- Review of payroll journal entries and liaise with the HR team as needed
- Review of accounts payable for coding accuracy
- Complete month end close, and provide summary comments for review
- Analytical review of income statements and interpretation
- Expense prepaids monthly
- Monthly preparation of financial statements
- Monthly reconciliation of asset & liability accounts
- Coordinate sales tax filing tasks with M3’s third party, Avalara.
- Preparation for audits
- Assist EVP Finance with various projects as needed
- Other duties as assigned
Â
Education/Training/Experience:Â
- Three or more years of experience in a directly related accounting position overseeing GAAP financials.
- Bachelor’s degree is required with a major in Accounting.
- Master’s in accounting and CPA designation a plus.
- Proficiency using accounting software packages such as Microsoft Dynamics GP, QuickBooks, Peachtree Accounting required; knowledge of M3 proprietary software preferred.
- Prior experience in Hospitality industry preferred.
- Prior experience with full cycle accounting, AP and AR preferred.
- Supervisory experience.
